Thanks for the ping Dave.
I’m sure glad that the bureaucrats and electeds are looking out for us.
I for one would rather hear about the militia concept from a Guardsman than from a dry Wikipeadia article.
And here you give away that you asked a baited question. If you have the capacity to look up a dry Wikipedia article then you could just as easily have looked up something else instead of asking your question or hoping a"a Guardsman" answered you...despite the Guard having nothing whatsoever to do with the militia. They're a form of select militia.
The Right to Keep and Bear Arms
"The militia" is not to be confused with "a select militia." A select militia is a group which receives pay, training, and tasks above and beyond what is expected of the general population. The National Guard is an example of a select militia.
...a Guardsman...
And you've shown that you've learned nothing in the process. Any of the links provided concerning a "select militia" would have shown you how wrong your understanding is.
No homepage, no Links.
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree then. But I will leave it up to Jim Robinson to decide what is an inane question on FR and what is not.
I certainly would not call you ignorant...
Ignorance is curable, stupidity is forever.
Let me know what he says, if he chooses to answer your reply at all that is.
Mans Body Found in Steins, State Police Investigating
(For ABQ Journal articles requiring a subscription, scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the article for free after watching a short video commercial.)
This happened about 45 miles from me...and I am about that far from where Rob Krentz was murdered too. You can draw a line from the border to where Rob was murdered to the freeway and where the line intersects the freeway is real close to where this man was found murdered. Of course it is a major smuggling corridor.
Scary stuff, Janet and Obama and their families need to go camp out just about in the middle between where Rob Krentz was murdered and where this guy was murdered. They claim it is so safe and all, it was really pretty country to camp out in too, edge of mountains, forest- that is it was pretty until illegals set it all on fire recently- still burning- Horseshoe 2 Fire. This is the area where they were warning the firefighters about the border issues/dangers they may encounter while risking their lives already to fight a fire.
I didn’t know this man, but my prayers go out to his family and friends. I haven’t heard anything that hasn’t been reported, saw a Hidalgo County Deputy today and he didn’t say anything not already out there. I think the NM State Police is taking over the investigation.
Hmm. I haven’t been through there in years, but I always thought that Steins would make a good location for a horror movie, with lots of dead bodies lying about.
(Not to make light of a bad thing)
Just doing the killin’ Americans won’t do.
The Cartels smuggle drugs and humans...they branch into many other illegal activities too. Likely this was a smuggler that killed him, but if an illegal not involved in smuggling was wanted for some serious crime or had been caught crossing enough times before and was looking at serious jail time they might murder someone to keep from being caught.
Ronald Reagan actually tried to fix the problems of the border. He signed into law many strict immigration laws that are not enforced. He did do the amnesty but with the understanding that there would be a serious crackdown on illegals working in this country. The laws are there and the deal might have worked but the libs thought the laws were too harsh so they refused to enforce them. The dims double crossed him and not only didn’t enforce the laws on illegals, they actively encouraged them to flood in here and encouraged them to work here. That is why I refuse to even consider anything that gives amnesty to even one illegal until the border is secure and there is a total crackdown on illegals. Already been taken for a ride on promises that were not delivered on last time.
A hit would imply there was some drug connection. Nothing could be further from the truth. This was just a man and wife preserving a little bit of New Mexico History for the future generation. http://www.newmexico.org/western/explore/steins.php
RIP.
I am so sick and tierd of this! My neighbors are gunned down and Nappy calls us folks the ones to look out for...
The United State’s are being invaded and liberalism enjoys such.
Educate your libtard neighbors or accept socialism.
What I asked about was CONSTITUTIONAL MILITIAS, not your local looney’s private army.

Hidalgo County man shot to death
Larry Link, the owner of Steins Ghost Town, was found shot to death early Tuesday morning on Summit Road in Hidalgo County. State Police Public Information Officer Maj. Scott Weaver said they currently have no suspects and the investigation is ongoing. Examiner.com reported that Link, 68, was shot by an undocumented immigrant on his land, but that has not been verified by State Police or the Hidalgo County Sheriff. Hidalgo County Commissioner Ed Kerr said there is undocumented immigrant and drug activity in the area where Link was killed. "Last summer in August, I found five bundles of marijuana on my ranch land about 50 feet from the freeway. That can't be more than eight or 10 miles from Larry's," he said. "They were scattered about. One was under the billboard, one was beside the fence. Illegals with empty backpacks had dropped their load. I-10 is, obviously, a connecting point. We're getting a lot of traffic, more than what we've seen in the past couple of years. They have ultra-light planes flying out of Mexico and dropping off bundles and then illegals walking and picking them up." Hidalgo County Commissioner Richard Chaires said Link bought insurance from him for many years, since he moved to Steins from Phoenix to get away from the hustle and bustle there. "He was the type of gentleman always had a smile on his face," Chaires said. "He was happy-go-lucky. He's going to be truly missed. He was an asset to the community."...more
Southern Hildago County and Southern Luna County are basically “no-mans land.” I have a friend who was assigned to the Lordsberg sector for the NM State Police. They stayed out of this area unless absolutely necessary. That was 10 years ago. This area is basically New Mexico’s DMZ.
