"This (Lee's resignation) came after a media frenzy after reports surfaced that he allegedly sent provocative pictures of himself, along with e-mails, to a woman on the internet."
But the behavior of both was highly inappropriate for a congressman (or any half-mature man): Republican Less resigned immediately (just this past February) and Dim Weiner "accepted responsiblity" and "apologized", but he's NOT resigning. Time to move on, I guess.
And this is where? A little more info would be nice.
Weiner is a democrat. Free ticket to do anything they want and get away with it.
Also NY.
New York 26, in the Buffalo area, Jack Kemp’s old seat that was just recently lost to a Dim during a special election. Was a major news story just a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks.
Chris Lee (R) is from New York this happened in Feb of this year.
That is why there was a special election in New York city
last month I beleive. Also the picture Mr. Lee sent was
of himself with his shrit off flexing his muscles-not in his underwear showing an erection.
And the “provocative” pictures of Lee were just shirtless pictures.
Some politicians make it through a sex scandal while others do not.
Clinton, Frank, Vitter and Larry Craig made it without quitting.
Chris Lee, Spitzer and that gay Florida congressman with the interns did quit.
Wiener is in a safe Dem district and will be forced to quit.
Lee chose to resign. Maybe he should have hung around a little longer.
Lee was just five women short of being able to keep his seat.
That and he was a Republican.
Maybe so, but I think the House Republicans put major pressure to resign on any Republicans who get involved in this sort of thing. Senator Vitter rode it out, but few Republicans do.
Chris Lee was pushed out of office by House Speaker John Boehner, so he never even had a chance to engage in Tony Dick’s pathetic press-conference whimpering.
What surprises me is that there are so many straight men in NY. I guess they must be deprived.
That and he was a Republican
Lol, so his mistake was to harass too few women? That could be considering what several Dims have gotten away with over the years.
yep. The republicans don’t want to look bad, and the democrats don’t care, they just don’t want to lose a vote.
Larry Craig DID NOT resign.
The message here is to send provocative pictures of someone else—maybe from classical sculpture.
