Civil war may break out among heavily-armed Bedouin tribes in the Sinai, which has become a lawless area since the Egyptian uprising this year.
Violence in the volatile Sinai Peninsula, directly south of Gaza and bordering the Eilat-Gaza route, could bring more instability to Israels southern border, plagued for years by slave trade, infiltration, drug and weapons trafficking by Bedouin and Hamas terrorists.
Egyptian sources warned Sunday that two rival Bedouin tribes, each accusing the other of murder and kidnapping, are headed for war, according to the Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency.
The BBC earlier this week also quoted local Bedouin saying that civil war looms. Egyptian police have left the area since the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, whose Sunni authorities restricted Bedouin from following Muslim Sharia practice and teachings.

Poor Israel having to suffer these animals, pre neanderthals as neighbors.
What they need to do is go to Israel to learn about civilization, success and democracy, that will put some spring in their uprisings!
I’m afraid that doesn’t work. Knuckle-dragging is not a habit that can be broken simply by contact with civilization. Civilization, however, is a habit that can be broken by excessive contact with openly hostile knuckle draggers. Bedouins actually do serve in the IDF quite often. But that doesn’t mean they’ll come right in from the Sinai and have pop tarts and cola with us a few days later.
So true. Its a process. Magna Carta was just over 1000 years ago and we are still growing and changing. Its a shame that open immigration allows us to import the ignorance, crime and dirt from other nations and then have to spend three generations educating the immigrants.
Did I just sleep through two centuries and wake up in 2215?
Yesterday, I was tired enough to have done that....
... defective memory.... or slight exaggeration...actually I flipped a bit.
Will there soon be UN resolutions calling for recognition of an independent Sinai state?
SO,
Israel gave up the Sinai in exchange for peace. When the peace goes away, do they get the Sinai back?
Two Sinai states, one for each warring tribe.
Only if they act PDQ, while Egypt is still in disarray. They’ll get all excited, shout “Jihaad” and run into the Sinai with great grampa’s Lee Enfield, grandma’s hair curler, and uncle Ahmed’s AK47, get quickly and relatively humanely routed, and the UN will go apeshit. But shipping to and from Eilat will be safeguarded, and Aza will be only an amphibious landing away, although at this point I’d recognize it as a contiguous part of Egypt and expect them to curb their knuckle-draggers. Hamas will find plenty to keep it busy in Egypt.

It's also rumored there's a not insignificant jihadist presence in the Sinai.
