Last week in a post titled: With Friends Like Fox News Palin Is Better Off With Her Enemies, we reported on how Fox News is out to take down Governor Palin. We wrote (Emphesis added):
Fox wants Palin out but they dont want to suspend her contract because by doing so theyll be conceding that shes a serious contender. Fox wont do anything that would lend her credibility. They just want her to resign. The tactic now is to makePalins life as difficult and as miserable as possible until Palin just gets frustrated and leaves on her own citing irreconcilable differences. Things are going to get worse. Fox is about to up the ante and its going to get ugly.
Later that day we noted on how quick Fox News was to up the ante:
After meeting with Governor Palin yesterday Fox decided to up the ante today. Talking to Carl Cameron on his show today, Shepard Smith announced that fox will now be referring to Governor Palin as Contributor Palin.
Today Fox took it a step further with another blunder. In a news bulletin during Shannon Breams show, Fox News used a photo of Tina Fey to portray Governor Palin instead of a real one of the Governor.
Now I can see how this could have been an unintentional blunder. But with all that Fox has been accused of lately in relation to its treatment of Governor Palin, and with them trying to argue that all those accusations just happen to be a string of coincidences, you would assume they would be extra vigilant.
Furthermore, organizations like Fox News have their images filed, organized and well tagged. So what was a photo of Tina Fey doing filed under Sarah Palin?

Did NBC buy them out and we missed it?
I'm not attacking you, just attempting to show you how trivial this topic is, yet this is also what the MSM is reporting as news on Palin. Not her trip to Sudan. Not the fact that she's called out both the President and former Speaker as liars. Not the fact that she is not a true believer in Man Made Global Warming (which we cannot say about Romney or Christie). And, not the fact that she is the only Republican candidate with a spine.
I don't know which candidate your hoping for, but if this is your litmus test, you should really be on line to AOL/Huffington Post, where you can see their front page story of Palin and (their words) her uncomfortable answer. You might be happier there and find like minded people.
Of course you have some tangible evidence to back up your assertion. Right?
Well, fox news is owned partly by an arab you know.
Which is it you're lacking? The time or the will?
Correctamundo!
Here's one...Kerry Lists Endorsements From 204 Corporate Leaders August 4, 2004
In addition to Phillips, they were Owsley Brown, chief executive of Brown-Forman Corp.; Peter Chernin, chief operating officer of News Corp., which owns Fox News Channel; Charles Gifford, chairman of Bank of America Corp.; and Penny Pritzker, president of Pritzker Realty Group.
No. My criteria for a candidate is not the ability to answer a simple historical question. My criteria is a candidate who doesn’t constantly hand the enemy the means to defeat them.
Whether the Palin worshipers on here realize it or not, Palin has a perception problem. Currently seventy percent of the country and a majority of Republican voters think she is an idiot. She needs to change this pereption by showing a grasp of the issues in a forum other than Fox News. If she is a real candidate for President she needs to go on Face the Nation, PBS, write Op-eds in the New York Times and Washington Post etc. She may in fact do just that when the time comes. But for now she continues to give the left every opportunity to pounce on her when she does these “Paul Revere” kind of things.
The worshipers constantly compare her to Ronald Reagan. Which either means they are trying to build her up or bring Reagan down. She is not Ronald Reagan, a two term governor of California ( the full eight years by the way) debated Robert Kennedy, Bill Buckley among others. Wrote countless radio and newspaper issue papers and addresses on and on. And of course almost defeated a Republican President and did defeat a Democratic one. Palin may eventually do all these things in the next eighteen months, but to date I haven’t seen any interest in doing anything remotely similar to this.
Finally let me state this. Obama must be defeated, period. Whoever the nominee is I will support them and vote for them. I’m not going third party or doing anything idiotic like that. The nation is at a crossroads and I believe will make the right choice next year. We must be prepared to offer a candidate who can take the fight to Obama and his MSM apologists. I just don’t think Palin is that candidate. She may prove me wrong but what happened this weekend only confirms my current belief.
Firesuit on!!!
POP it one more time for the GOP!
The nation is at a crossroads and I believe will make the right choice next year.
If I searched through your Aug-Dec 2008 comments I bet I would find those exact sentiments expressed by you back then as well.
The history, dating back to at least Eisenhower, shows that the MSM creates an image of the leading Republican candidate as an idiot. (There have been well researched essays about this.) When they cannot do it, as happened with Nixon, they painted him as a criminal. But all of them, Ford, Quayle, Reagan, both Bushes, others, have been created as bumbling morons. Palin is no exception, and if you are buying anything about her alleged persona, her intelligence level, you have swallowed the bait. Palin is no worse in all the regards you mentioned than Gore, Kerry, or Obama, in fact she is much better. Like Reagan before her she needs to reach the electorate over the MSM. Can she succeed? Dan Quayle never did, and neither did Ford.
If you wait for a Republican candidate the MSM loves and praises Hades will freeze over first. Gimme a break. Palin was correct and the media was wrong, but you want to use that as an example of why she can’t win? Pfft.
I think the weekenders at FOX are drunk half the time.
So you didn’t vote for McCain in November 2008?
Rick Perry! /MSM cheerleader
my hubby saw that and yelled out “THAT’S NOT PALIN, THAT’S TINA FEY, WHAT THE HECK?”
He was livid!
I missed it, so i thought surely he was mistaken.....SURELY....
wow, I wonder if this was a palin hating techie that snuck the pic in....even if the big wigs hate her there, this is too obvious & really hurts their credibility... surely they arent that stupid
I agree. But rarely has a candidate, other than Quayle, given them so much ammo.
I refuse to compare a conservative to any liberal. I expect much higher standards.
To call Eisenhower an idiot given his pre-election career is silly on it’s face. Reagan also had a track record as did Bush that showed they clearly were not. Palin can do the same, but to date has chosen not to.
I don’t want or expect the GOP to nominate a candidate the MSM will love. I expect the GOP to nominate a conservative who won’t blow up at the first non Fox News presser. Palin’s track record in that area to date is poor. But again, she can change that perception, but Saturday she didn’t.
Is that ozone that I smell?
