To bad you got rid of the ATV, there are lots of places to rid there too.
Thanks for the info! I’ll bring layers as you suggest & a light fleece jacket!
Sooooo ready to make it happen! :)
Only one of 'em, I still have the non-racing one.
That freakin' Raptor was a flying death machine, it needed to go.
Perfect.
You wont need mud boots this year LoL
Well, there are alot of trails out there at the range that run the course of the river if you want to drag it along.
I just wanted you to know that there are places to ride there.
There is also a large 100+ year old Pecan Grove 3 mi down the road in Wilmer Tx that is now a wildlife preserve.
It is open to the public if anyone wants to gather pecans or downed pecanwood for their smokers.

On the side of the river we will be shooting toward is the Palmetto Alligator Slough.

It is about 3 miles due east.
It also is scheduled in conjunction with the Texas State Fair.
Hoowee! Thats a weekend as big as Texas!
You’re gonna miss my lime-green crocs! :)
Yeah, we all will ;)
You know....it’s rained EVERY year? Why do we think this year will be different just because of the pesky drought? LOL!
Maybe I need to have those lime green crocs for emergency mud situations. :)
Gawd...y’all must think I can hip shoot that .50 or something...Tennis balls??? ;-)
Good thing I just bought a case of .223 this weekend...Guess I’ll have to bring the fun gun...
We need to get a picture of all of us and post it on their website...
We are not the 99%’ers!!!
BTW, who has that big “We Support the Troops” banner??? I had it for a while, but I gave it to someone in the HAT group a long time ago...
I have access to a small table that I will bring, if it fits in the trunk. All the folding chairs are down South.
Anything is welcome.
I have tables and chairs for 4.
There is a table on the 400 yard range.
Do you have a bipod?
You betcha...But I’ll probably lay prone...Shooting from the bench is a bit hard on peoples shoulders...
You need to put your body in-line from the rifle to your shoulder, straight back through your hip and right or left leg (as you choose to shoot), heel down and dug in...
That way the “lurch” transfers nice and easy down that line through you and to the turf...
Big bores don’t really kick, in my opinion...they kinda “lurch”...I also recommend staying off the scope with the eye...At least a good 3 inches...I have the scope setup (eye relief to about 3 inches...A good cap or even a small towel will shade that gap and give you a good sight picture for your shot...
I also recommend double hearing protection for those shooting it...plugs and muffs...Its got a nice bark to it...
One thing I do owe (and thank) T.C. on this, is he sent me down the path to aquire one of these...
It may not be as fun as a belt fed MG, or a semi-auto version...But it does get you to remember ALL the basics of marksmanship and good safety practices...
I thought Arlington had a roof or something???
;-)
The 400 yard range is suddenly missing the new gongs.
I have no idea what happened to them, but two gongs still remain.
We don neeeeeed no stinkeen gongs!!!
We make our own museeeek!!!
