Picture of me so you’ll recognize me on October 22. And yes...laughing is allowed. LOL!

More trees over this way. I bet it is worse.
Wow! No end of excitement over your way! I guess I’ll just
stick to what I know. Sand. :)
Sand? Did somebody mention WSMR?
That lonely place in the desert, from which Warnher Von Braun bombed Juarez three times?
Never haerd of it.
It really was like that in your area, wasn't it? Up around 115 for a while?
And the Sandbox had a worse than usual summer, too. 124 and 125 for highs quite a lot in late July / early August.
Of course, over there, we expect not to see a drop of rain between May and November. I'm not used to that here. :(
BTW...the fire is looking a lot better. Some smoke up, but I'm guessing they've gotten it somewhat under control right now. Not liking this wind, though...
Did WSMR in ‘96. Lots of burms.
Someone needs to bomb it again to get rid of the drug cartels. They have killed more people in Juarez than we will ever know.
We have had a total of 1/2 inch since last September. Very weird year.
So glad that it seems to be under control. If the wind gets up, though, all bets are off!
You’re gonna be at the shoot?
That’s GREAT, ma’am! ;) Look forward to meeting you!
Yes, sir. I will be there. LOL!
Yes, depth perception kind of goes out the window and landmarks are hard to come by. Fortunately, I was hemmed in by bases, because my sense of direction is non-existent even in the middle of a city with numbered streets.
Good thing you lucked right back onto your tank position.
Wow on the fire! Was Gunner 4-wheelin’ with a leaky fuel line?
Backup plan for cooking is at my place.
Woohoo! This is gonna be fun!
I can remember getting lost and saying, “Which ways is it?”
Sergeant Preston replied, “How the hell do I know? It all looks the same.”
LOL!
This summer, I casually mentioned to the guy next to me at range 33, that I first jumped into WSMR as a little paratrooper in 1981.
He said, “Sh%T - you have been out her for 30 years?”
Well, yeah. on and off.
We agreed that Juarez has not improved much.
But I should have planted a darn tree or something my first trip out there - at least we would have a little shade by now ...
And yes, a tree would grow, next to the spring on Nike road, or the one by Condrin.
Come to think of it, they have a magic tree in the Organ Mtns - stand on the back patio at the Frontier Club, about 0915, and look southwest. When the sun comes clear, just above the old silver mine, a pine tree will appear on the side of the mountain.
Hope you have a good time whatever you decide!
Oooo...eerie! Have you actually seen it?
Breakfast, shoot, and dinner?
Yes. Breakfast, shoot and dinner. I don’t have one of them there fancy weapons, but I do know how to shoot ‘em. LOL!
Many, many times. Even took my daughter out to see it, once. Don’t recomment climbing the hill, though - the range is at 3,400 feet - the Organ Mtns top out at 9,000 ft.
Bit of a slope.
