This was then:

Federal Judge Royce Lamberth is best known for the ease with which he approved dozens of discovery motions that allowed fellow conservative Larry Klayman of Judicial Watch to dig into the public and private life of President Bill Clinton.(Brief Article)

This is now:

U.S. District Court Chief Judge Royce Lamberth this week rejected a defense concern over procedure in the dispute, and Taitz told WND today the case has moved into discovery and she can issue subpoenas to those holding the documentation she is seeking.

My understanding is that there is no other information than the number itself and the 1890 date.

The FOIA request is partly to force the Social Security Admin to come clean with (redacted to index only) information they have for the original SSN applicant.

If that index info conflicts with known facts about Obama it will begin to unhinge the cover story about Obama’s past with implications for his POTUS eligibility in 2012.

The Area Number is assigned by the geographical region. Prior to 1972, cards were issued in local Social Security offices around the country and the Area Number represented the State in which the card was issued. This did not necessarily have to be the State where the applicant lived, since a person could apply for their card in any Social Security office. Since 1972, when SSA began assigning SSNs and issuing cards centrally from Baltimore, the area number assigned has been based on the ZIP code in the mailing address provided on the application for the original Social Security card. The applicant's mailing address does not have to be the same as their place of residence. Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since.
Obama's SSN was issued well after 1972.

B$, what about SSN# that were generated before zip codes were even thought of. Zip codes came into use in 1963.

In fact the initial 3 digits indicate the zip coded area that begins with those same digits.

That's incorrect.

Ditto on the ice cold platter of revenge served up to all of Orlys’ critics around here.

The only thing being served up to Orly's critics is fresh buttered popcorn for her freak show.

My SSN was issued in 1952, and it definitely begins with the prefix assigned to my state.

We didn’t apply for a SSN in those days until we absolutely had to, at least not where I lived.

I forgot this, your draft card number had 2 digits that were your birth year, every bouncer knew that.

“In fact the initial 3 digits indicate the zip coded area that begins with those same digits.”

NO way!

If that was true mine would start with 900 but it starts with the correct #550.

Who is Harrison J. Bounel?

Try www.muckety.com for "whos who" and their connections.

Not everyone is listed (or mucked) but many are; hope you find it interesting.

The prefix is more strongly linked to geography after 1972.

ZIP codes exist in number ranges within state boundaries, to see this, click on a state name on the page for this link:

http://www.zipcodestogo.com/ZIP-Codes-by-State.htm

“The applicant's mailing address does not have to be the same as their place of residence. Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since.”

If the mailing address is the same as the place of residence then it *does* follow that the SSN prefix represents the State of residence of the applicant for that subset of applicants.

The next question is what percentage of applicants have a mailing address that is the same as their residential address. I would suggest to you that percentage is in the nineties, with exceptions being mainly college students who applied for a SSN from a student accommodation address [on or near campus] without actually considering that mailing address to be their “home.”

Orly is doing something, which is better than doing nothing, which is the first cousin to commandos barking out orders from behind a keyboard. Orly understands the threat to our freedoms a hell of alot better than many here at FR. Bash away. Orlys’ timber is strong and you’re flak is missing it’s mark.

Orly is about action and nearly all of us here at FR (I include myself in this category) are “sidewalk superintendents”.

"In fact the initial 3 digits indicate the zip coded area that begins with those same digits."

Not in my case.....
Not in my wife's case....
Not in my kids' cases (who got their SS# in a different state from myself).

"“Chief judge of the U. S. district court in the District of Columbia, Royce Lamberth, issued his scheduling order on June 1st. What is important, that it says, that the FOIA cases are exempt from the initial meet and confer, which means that there is no need for Rule 26 conference, so the discovery is on, which means, that the deposition of the White House Counsel regarding Obama’s fraudulent use of the Connecticut Social Security number 042-68-4425 and his use of the forged birth certificate, can go on. Robert Bauer could get deposed. Typically the White House gets an early warning of what is going on in courts, particularly in the DC courts. I wonder, if the White House Counsel Robert Bauer got information from one of the clerks, that the case will go on, which prompted his resignation the next day, on June the second."

Funny....Levin commented yesterday on Bauer's odd and sudden departure.
