Sarah Palin and the Star of David

While former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been traveling the county on her recent East Coast bus tour, she made an appearance in New York City. Naturally, the media wanted to largely focus on her meeting at a local pizza place with Donald Trump.

However, the real news has apparently been missed by everyone in the media.

Sarah Palin made a political statement the other day that relatively few people recognized.

I noticed it right away. She has worn it on other occasions as well. The media is useless.

Just so everyone knows she also wore one of those American-Israeli flag lapel pins the day before when she met Trup for pizza.

They were too busy making fun of her for eating pizza with a fork.

Personally I do not like candid photos of me eating. Few people look good eating.

I assume she is smart enough to know that if she was to pick up a piece of pizza with a long string of cheese hanging off it and it dripped down her chin, that would have been the photo of the day.

I used to have a gold star of David but gave it away to a Jewish friend of mine. I wore it a lot and people would ask me if I was Jewish. I would tell them , “no, but my savior is”. Gave me a “in” on sharing my faith with others.

I have been a pro shooter for nearly 30 years and the ONLY time I take a picture of some eating is when I want to make them look bad!

I eat pizza with a fork on occasion.

Yes, I know New Yorkers are pizza snobs for their style of pizza. Yes, I know that they like to fold the slice and eat it with their hands. That's one reason I use a fork - to drive them crazy.

I have never seen a bad picture of Palin. And God knows big media has been scouring the world to find one for years. She is extraordinarily photogenic.

And I agree completely that a lot of people in the public eye wouldn’t want to be photographed while eating. The comment from the photographer proved the point.

If there are two things I am an expert on, they're the Star of David, and eating pizza.

1) Sarah Palin make every head on the Upper West Side explode by wearing the symbol of the Jewish people and the Jewish State. Their silence - and believe me, silence comes hard to that crowd - speaks volumes.

2) I am very much a NY pizza snob. I love to eat pizza while I'm walking, with the slice folded neatly as I weave through the sidewalk crowds.

3) It **is** acceptable to eat pizza with a knife and fork IF the slice is very hot, or if the cheese is insufficiently congealed to allow for folding.

4) Out of towners do get cut some slack on these things, particularly if they're attractive women. ;)
