Very smart. Trump could be a powerful ally.

I don’t think she sees him as an ally so much as a competitive threat she has to neutralize. At two levels. Trump had great polling numbers because he appealed to the no-nonsense independents in a big way. Sarah wants a piece of that pie, and by association she can peel some of that in her direction. Furthermore, if she can cajole him into either giving intel about his own intentions, or if she can persuade him to keep his head down and let her be the tip of the spear, she’s looking at a much cleaner field of play. General Palin, I dare say.

Very perceptive of you. I didn’t see Trump laughing at that dinner where he was repeatedly insulted.

I tend to agree with you entirely. I see this as a stroke of genius.

Off the record guess.. I'll bet she charms into being one of her BEST OUTSPOKEN allies while soliciting his support and a healthy donation.

My point: He can say some profound things on her behalf that she CANNOT.

We shall see.
