Yes, I allowed myself to be tricked.

I had an Adobe file already opened in another window. I had no reason to believe it wasn’t genuine. I assumed it was an update to make the text in the window more friendly to the eye.

I was wrong. And it didn’t take me long to find out.

I did the same thing, but it said my computer was infected and “click this” to clean it.

Big mistake. I had to restore my computer to it’s 1st day, it would not allow me to restore to any previous backup dates.

I’m not computer literate in ANY sense. However, restoring to the original date isn’t too hard.

I don’t know if you tried it yet, but hit the F8, like FReepers stated previously, while booting up and just follow the “directions”.

Look for system restore, or something like that (I can’t remember exactly what it said), but it was pretty easy to follow.
