I will say that being for gay civil unions is not a conservative position. It is a foot in the door attempt for gay marriage, it is “gay marriage by another name”. It is normalizing perversion by deflecting the argument into ‘civil rights’. There is no civil right to practics perversion.

They already have the ability to make anyone they want inheritors in their wills, they can tell hospitals they want this person to be able to see them just like I do, they can make those people legally their healthcare power of attorney so they can make end of life decisions just like I can in my own legal healthcare power of attorney document.

In Wisconsin and many other states they have amended their constitutions to say there will be no gay marriage OR ANY OTHER constructs that mimic marriage, like civil unions, registries, etc.

The gay agenda works incrementally and with purpose. they have dedicated gay legal groups who have these steps all planned out. Human Rights Campaign, Lambda Legal, etc.

I believe I need to retract the apology, if you really believe this nobody is twisting your viewpoint around, it is crystal clear and it isn’t a conservative viewpoint. It’s a stepping stone for the homosexual agenda to eventually destroy the definition of marriage.

No, it just means that many non-gays could also benefit from some form of right to civil union.

It ain’t pro gay.

Right. It's pro-homosexual.

It’s pro civil union.

Two of a kind can't "mate". There is no union. There is only deviant sex. Civil unions are a step on the slippery slope to homosexual marriage which is an impossibility.

I’m not certain I even support it. But the idea doesn’t contradict conservative principles.

Yes. It does. We are talking about two people who have deviant sex pretending they are a "couple". They are not. They cannot "mate".

my apologies, I mis interpreted your words FRiend

I'll have to take a share of responsibility as well.

I think way faster than I type, and clear thinking things in my head often get left behind as I type.

The push for ‘homosexual civil unions’ is just another way of saying “homosexual marriage”.
You do understand that, right?
It doesn’t mean what you think it means.
It is a typical propaganda move, use terms in an incorrect fashion to mask intent.

Besides, they can write a will just lie anyone else as someone else mentioned above.

I don't want to deny homosexuals the right to leave their inheritance to whomever they choose. Or to name whomever they choose as a beneficiary. Stuff like that.

Please cite ANY LAW from ANY STATE that prohibits ANYONE from leaving money to a homosexual in their will or naming a homosexual as the beneficiary on an insurance policy.

Just ONE LAW, that's all I'm asking for.

And, if you want to try the bonus round you can cite the name of ANY HOSPITAL that prohibits homosexuals from visiting each other during normal visiting hours.

I was going to say just what you said! I recalled wealthy people leaving everything to their cats, or a shyster who recently befriended them.

Civil unions are indeed the “foot in the door”. I remember when abortion was made legal. When conservatives said it would be used as birth control, we were gasped at and told we were liars as it was ONLY for rape and incest. It is now modern birth control. Give them an inch.......

It’s pro civil union. As I said, everyone ought to be eligible, like everyone’s eligible to form a corporation.

Hey troll, guess what. EVERY UNMARRIED ADULT IN AMERICA (who is not incarcerated or been barred by court order) is eligible to get married.

There is not a single law in any state that prohibits homosexuals from getting married and there never has been. Homosexuals have EXACTLY THE SAME RIGHTS when it comes to marriage that everyone else does.

There are two ways to determinate morality.

1. From God - And the same moral basics are taught in every religion in the world; even Buddhism which is not theism. The standard is already there.

2. Peoples’ minds invent what they like and don’t like and call it “morality”.

Number 1 is Real morality, and number 2 is invented nonsense that is the product of fallible minds deciding what they like and calling it “moral”. And the funny thing - when “morality” becomes whatever anyone wants to call it, then the guy/s with the biggest voice and biggest guns have the final word. IOW, anarchy followed by tyranny.
