The big issue is whether or not the law does differentiate between organizations that do take public funding as opposed to those which don’t. Read the stories carefully. Some people mentioned Massachusetts, where I am not entirely familiar with the story. But regarding the UK story, the statutes for adoption do not carry exemptions for organizations that operate without public funding, which included the Catholic adoption agency in Great Britain. I also hope that any other private adoption agency works without public funding as best as possible.
It’s disgusting what theses perverts are trying to do to harmless and thoughtful organizations.
“If they’re so dedicated to the idea of adoptions, why don’t they establish their own Gay Men and Women Adoption Agency, and have people come to them.”
That’s already available from a number of state agencies. However, that’s where people need to understand how the term, “social justice” comes into play. If people feel strongly enough about adoption, they can set up legal limits for what any adoption agency should be subject to, even if you are a private organization. Even religions have a common law which they should be subject to. Religion, as we have legally determined in court, cannot be used as a reason to practice animal sacrifice, incest, concubinage, child marriages, or polygamy.
