"In a press conference Tuesday, the Texas governor notably declined to "rule out" a White House bid, amid calls from Rush Limbaugh and others that he should enter the 2012 race."

Disagree entirely. Perry would be like Taft only if you were compared Perry to Taft's grandson Gov. Bob Taft. Coolidge governed as one of the most staunch conservative Republicans ever in the White House, perhaps even more conservative than Reagan. Coolidge distained regulations and taxes to the point where only 2% of taxpayers paid any federal income tax by 1927. Perry only talks tough to excite supporters at tea party rallies, but governs right-of-center and doesn't want to offend Democrats or rock the boat.
Historic comparison: GWB, GWHB, Gerald Ford, perhaps Truman (another tough talking establishment guy)
Perry is worse. He not only wants to help illegals, he wants our tax money to pay for social programs in Mexico.
Well, in that case, Perry can go to Hell.......I mean Mexico.
He shouldn’t even be considered, then.
Thanks for the info.
Its the same reason democrats won't run against Obama, that, and they may honestly, just like the person.
Palin didn't have to endorse Perry, she had nothing to gain by doing so, I don't think Perry would turn and stab her in the back by running against her. Also, the 2 of them obviously have ties going back to being governors, it might not be a stretch, that he's waiting to see what she wants to do.
“Will he get your vote over the zero?
And yes, we are asking you to vote with your nose held.”
No. I vote my conscience before God. If Godless people want to vote in other Godless people then they get what they deserve. I also won’t vote for adulterer Newt or windsock Romney.
Does Perry have Confederate roots?? An ancestor in the Confederate army?
I don't hate Perry. I'd vote for him over Obama if I had to. I endorsed him over his RAT opponents. I just think he's a mediocre politician and I see no reason to "draft" him for the Presidency and add another lame establishment Republican to the race. You'll just muddy up the field further with lousy candidates.
>> Look, I love Sarah as much as any of you, and I think Cain is a nice guy and a fine American, but sadly, we have to face the facts that these two are not electable. <<
And Perry is "more electable" how? He won in ultra-Republican Texas with an "R" next to his name against very weak opponents. So what? Perry will be hammered by the Obama campaign as a clone of George W. Bush and I don't think that will play well in the other 49 states. Aside from that, what exactly would Perry bring to the primary that we don't already have with other right-of-center conservative Governors like Pawlenty?
A record of job creation. A record of balancing a significant, expected budget deficit, more than once.
Perry for president? Rush Limbaugh thinks so
http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/05/18/2222913/perry-for-president-rush-limbaugh.html
Limbaugh, on Wednesday’s show, declares the staunchly anti-Washington Perry has the mix of message and personality and appearance to drive Democrats “nuts” and dispel America of the notion that President Barack Obama is unbeatable in wake of the death of Osama bin Laden.
None of the current Republican candidates are building any excitement among GOP voters, Limbaugh said. But Perry, he declared, has the “potential to light this up.”
As Christians, we know that all authority comes from God.
Sincere question: Do you pray and seek the Lord’s will before voting or do you have a line drawn in the sand which you simply won’t cross?
Interesting you should mention Godless. Perry is the most Godless politician you ever met (or didn’t).
The guy has zero humility, and a bunch of chips on his shoulder.
Perry’s the guy with all the contacts in business and international gov that knows how to bring it all together.
But he’s pretty singular in his intent. Lately. And it’s all going to boil down to ‘who is this guy making phone calls to everybody at 3AM?’ vs. zero.
He has no moral core like Reagan or W. He’s rather very much like Nixon. He has enemies in mind, and is plotting for their demise.
If you want a sweeter, nicer guy go with Cain. Which I will until he drops out.
“I love Sarah as much as any of you, and I think Cain is a nice guy and a fine American, but sadly, we have to face the facts that these two are not electable.”
Absolutely true.
Unfortunately, some people prefer to live in dreamland under Obama, than face reality and do something about saving the country, by nominating someone, who can defeat Obama and get the country back on track. I think Perry has a record in Texas that gives me hope that he could do it.
A.N.Y.O.N.E. but Hillary. Remember when that was the Freeper Motto.
You forgot to add that Perry seems to really make Obama nervous.
You shouldn’t believe everything people post — go research it yourself.
Perry was on Greta’s show today and he was very much in favor of securing our borders.
Anyone else serve in the Military, besides Perry?
Tim Pawlenty has a record in Minnesota of balancing every budget without raising taxes. He also a record of job creation, Minnesota had big job growth from 2002-2008 when he was Governor, far better than what they have now.
So again, what exactly does Perry bring to the field that the existing candidates DON'T have?
LOL...You are a hoot.
(*kicks at dirt with toe of boot, grins sheepishly*)
I voted for Hillary in the Texas Two-Step at Rush's request.
