"In a press conference Tuesday, the Texas governor notably declined to "rule out" a White House bid, amid calls from Rush Limbaugh and others that he should enter the 2012 race."

“Yager said he’s never seen copies of the voter registration cards, but noted “virtually all the sources that refer to” Reagan’s party affiliation indicate that he was registered as a Democrat and that “he has two autobiographies in which he refers to his voting for FDR four times, then for Truman.” Reagan was a Democrat, added Yager, even when he voted for Dwight D. Eisenhower.”
“Sincere question: Do you pray and seek the Lords will before voting or do you have a line drawn in the sand which you simply wont cross?”
I absolutely do pray, and pray a lot. If the majority want to elect someone that doesn’t seek to do what’s right under God, I won’t stand with them, and I don’t believe God would want me standing with them. I’m not a fence sitter. I voted McPain/ Palin because I thought Sarah had a chance to be our Deborah and because I thought God was giving us a “last chance” to turn the county around. At this point, I think our country is beyond redemption, but I try to stay optimistic. My first pick is Cain. He seems to walk the walk and has good background experience. My second pick is Bachman. While I like Sarah (wore the T-shirt today), I think she’s been too exposed and polluted by “the machine.”
The tit for tat between them has made me almost want to see a debate between them.
I still don’t think Perry will run. I’m not sure our electorate is ready for another Texas nominee(and I’m from Texas). They are too in love with “cool”.
But it sure could be fun.
Seems to me most of you Perry fans would already be supporting Pawlenty if his home state was the lone star state.
Calvin Coolidge governed as one of the most staunch conservative Republicans ever in the White House>>>>>>>>
Definitely more conservative than Ronald Reagan and from Massachusetts to boot! Both Reagan and Coolidge famously broke up public employees strikes. For Coolidge it was the 1919 Boston police strike
Rick Perry is no Reagan. He’s a Democrat that changed his label when the citizens of Texas did.
Do you give any consideration in your primary vote to the candidate’s ability to defeat the Dem opponent? Or it doesn’t matter, just so you “feel good” for voting “in a principled way” regardless of consequences?
Elections are about WINNING, not making one ‘feel good’ by chasing a mirage.
I'm green with envy.
Indeed. That's why I'm unlikely to vote for a Republican candidate who keeps winning by under 50% against weak opponents in a state where Republicans routinely win every statewide office. As far as elections go, Perry would be one of the weaker candidates in the GOP primary field. Bachmann, Pawlenty, Johnson, Santorum, etc. have won as Republicans in far tougher circumstances.
Something Obama could say verbatim. Oh, that's right. He pretty much has.
“can you briefly bring me and any others up to speed on the TSA issue? I thot TX legislature was fighting TSA with an anti-groping bill.”
Perry wimped out and didn’t sign it. It tells me he’s not serious about representing and fighting for the people. He’ll do what’s politically expedient.
So, tell me, why would any conservative vote for a candidate who thought it was a great idea to put pro-baby-killing, pro-homosexual Rudy Giuliani in the White House?
She seeks the Lord’s will. That is winning.
Not that that's a bad thing but do you have any idea why?
I don’t make decision about voting “about feeling good.” My life is devoted to serving God, not compromising with the world. Period. The road is narrow. God gives us the option to be Nineveh and we just keep electing Dems and RINOs.
Not that we really know God’s intent — but can you really believe that God is supporting Obama”
Ever heard “God helps those who help themselves”?
No. Why don't you give us chapter and verse so we can look that one up.
We Texans have some issues with Perry. Nobody is arguing that.
How he won in Texas is not the point. If he runs, he’ll take Texas. The issue on the table is whether or not he can beat Obama in the general.
“why would any conservative vote for a candidate “
Maybe because Perry is conservative “enough”, whatever that may mean and he can beat Obama.
None of the current GOP candidates have a chance.
What I have shown comes straight from the source, Perry himself, so I believe it. He is the one saying he wants to help illegals and Mexicans in Mexico with our money. Just because he’s running for office and decides to pull a John Kerry or Mitt Romney and say something completely opposite now that he is running for office, is no reason for me to believe he has changed.
John McCain has done that for years and he still fools people. Miss Lindsey Graham has many republicans in South Carolina fooled playing the same game. Every last one of these RINOs, and Party Pols, pull the same trick out of their hat when they want to get elected. Perry knows this RINOs “pretend to be conservative” game and he plays it well. It’s time for conservatives to wise up and tell these RINOs and party hacks we won’t be fooled again.
I find the fact that you have no problem with Perry wanting to bring in more illegals and give our hard earned tax money to Mexican nationals in Mexico very odd. At the very least we would have a severe disagreement on what it means to be a fiscal conservative. Hint, giving US tax money to Mexicans to improve their quality of life is not a fiscally conservative idea. Also trying force the people of the US into a union with Mexico and Canada is not Constitutional.
These are only some of the RINO principles that Perry has stated he supports. Don’t try showing me some electioneering speech of his where he’s standing at the border like John McCain telling us what he’ll do. Because once he’s in, he’ll do the exact opposite as I’ve already mentioned. He’s not trustworthy or principled. He’ll say and do whatever he has to to get elected.
All I’m doing is showing people what Perry has said. I’ll let them make up their minds for themselves but they won’t be able to make an informed decision without all the information.
