(Reuters) - Some prominent Jewish Americans are rethinking their support for President Barack Obama's 2012 re-election bid after he effectively called on Israel to give back territory it has occupied since 1967 to Palestinians. The backlash after Obama's keynote speech on the Middle East has Democratic Party operatives scrambling to mollify the Jewish community as the president prepares to seek a second term in the White House.

An older Reform Jewish belief was that the USA, not anything in Palestine, was their new promised land.
Jews that are more serious (from liberal Orthodox rightward, and at one time also the Conservative movement which has now become looey) about their ancestral religion weighed in against this kind of nonsense from the start. However, these more serious Jews comprise a small minority (about 20%) of the people that call themselves Jews in the USA. So when Obama courts the “Jewish vote” he pretty much means these self-haters. When Obama puts his foot in his mouth and implies that Jews are especially mean, then even the self-haters stop for a moment, because that’s an insult to them. But they soon forget it.
I have friends that are messianic Jews that will not vote OR give money to Obama! They also pack heat at synagogue...even the Rabbi.
Obama doesn’t care about Jewish donors. He has a new fundraising paradigm, with a campaign website that takes prepaid credit card donations from people using pseudonym, making it possible for foreign illegal money to pour into his coffers... foreign money from foreigners who hate Israel, to be more precise.
He probably doesnt care about Jewish voters, either, as they predominanly live in safe democratic states. It would take a great number of votes to switch to make him nervous. It is hard to imagine him losing New York or California for example And since Jewish voters are not Israelis but Americans who have American interests to consider when voting, they may not look at Israel as a top issue. Many want national healthcare, greater regulation of businesses and industry, higher taxes, etc...
The core of the Dem Party are blacks and Jewish people. No matter how disappointed they are in the Dem candidate’s stand on individual issues they will always give the party strong majorities.Republicans best stick to propagating Republican principles and those individual blacks and Jews who find it appealing will vote for them.No need to chase ethnic block votes.
Seriously, why the HELL would any Jew (or Christian for that matter) who cares about Israel even THINK about voting for Hussein?? He pollutes the waters with his sickening ideas.

Its because most take their belief in helping the poor as to meaning that they vote to forcibly make others paying for their marxism.
I’m not Jewish but Gentile by birth (gentile mother) and Christian (a fighting fundie) by choice. But the most serious Jews (literal traditional law sabbath keepers) aren’t going to be showing up on this thread until tonight, because it’s officially Saturday right now in the US until sunset... keep that in mind.
I think they should consider giving up mind-altering drugs... at least for an hour or two during the day... so they can assess the damage being done by this administration.

Yes but from what I’ve seen of polls, Hussein is EXTREMELY unpopular among Israelites ACROSS THE BOARD in their homeland.
If you knew anything about Sharia law, you’d realize that if America were ruled by it... *YOU’D* be treated just like a Jew would.

Many liberal Jews who live in the US have roots in Europe. Their great grandparents and grandparents were communists or part of the money changing elite. My grandfather was a communist and when he came to the states, he was taken off the boat, brought to the lower east side, got a bowl of soup and a job.
And he became a Democrat. His son, my father grew up in Brooklyn and was also a staunch democrat and an orthodox Jew. My father served in Korea, came home, got a job, married my mom and here I be.
In the 80’s something clicked. My fathers taxes went down, his income went up and he swore he would never again vote democrat.
When you start in a wealthy family, all that gets bypassed. those people stayed democrat and moved even further left when the party went that way. High taxes didn’t bother them and more importantly, their desire to help those more needy then them, brought out nanny.
