Here are the DNC chatting points for DNC Dave's interview with Newt:

1. Newt are you a racist?

2. Aren't you ineligible to the far right since you have been married three times and cheated on your wife?

That's about all they have on Newt and its far from enough.

Newt started out telling the many reason he should run and is capable of doing the job far better than zero including nat. security, making the weak case he's a small biz man,how he gets things done with his wife, Newt's choices are weak sometimes but at other times he saves the day.

He made a good case for running since he sees running as his duty as a citizen to try and save the country from zero.

DNC Dave then tried to set up a scenario where if we don't bump up the debt ceiling the country would suffer badly. Newt didn't fall for it and his comeback was brilliant: The dollar for dollar scenario that Boehner has purposed is perfect. For every dollar zero wishes to raise the debt ceiling it must be accompanied by a dollar for dollar decrease in current spending--brilliant if the pubbies will stick to it!! But that remains to be seen. Newt is excellent on numbers for anything.

He failed to bring up energy a huge mistake.

Newt also suggested only very small debt ceiling increases instead of the two trillion that Geithner is purposing, another brilliant idea and a great way to keep the left in check.

The left realizes that without huge deficit spending that may not be able to buy enough votes to keep zero in office which is what the debt ceiling is really all about for the commies.

Even with 200 billion left in a tarp LOC it may not be enough for zero to stay in office.

Newt showed why he won't be elected when he said that Ryans' plan was too big a jump.

To believe that you have to be more middle of the road than conservative and that may be Newts' downfall for us.

Ryans' plan is brilliant and Newt should have backed it all the way,but he is too concerned about pleasing the left, consensus building is more important to him.

He gets the tax issue that dnc dave brought up we are over spent not under taxed brilliant slogan.

DNC Dave uses Newts' recent language on food stamps to pretend that Newt is a racist.

Gingrich falls into the dnc trap of defending himself as not being a racist (he uses the Trent Lott defense) we all know how that ends.

If he had any guts he would have said "if opposing bad ideas that a Socialist potus puts forth makes me a racist than I proudly carry that banner.

That would have shut Dave up and put him on the defensive but our side is too eager to please the DBM and still a little low on testosterone.

Newt, "we need a new path, paychecks instead of food stamps"--excellent if you have the guts to back it up if not the rats will deem it racist, get the DBM to repeat it and we are done. They know it worked on Hillary in SC and they will never stop using it when they get down and dirty which is what being a Demoncrat is all about. We need to learn from them!!

Newt:"We need better strategies for dealing with a super long term problem of radical islam," good take by newt.

DNC Dave:does zero love America or are you a racist? When all else fails use the race card.

Newts reply, not bad: I think zero loves America in his own way but has a different vision and does not believe in American exceptionalism.

Good stand up reply.

Newt has great ideas and tries to compare himself to Reagan, not a vp choice.

All in all it was a pretty good interview but when push comes to shove Newt will always cave to the left for the sake of compromise. They have no fear of him. We need someone the left fears all the time if we hope to save the country.

"if opposing bad ideas that a Socialist potus puts forth makes me a racist than I proudly carry that banner.

Probably something a radio talk show host can say, but as a politician in the Republican party, the state run media only plays the second part of that for a sound bite

Thanks, Rodguy, for the Newt and Dave report.

If only Newt didn’t sometimes have difficulty with the message and always have difficulty with himself as the messenger, he could work...

I didn't watch the show (no teevee, don't miss it), and thank you for your excellent synopsis and added opinion.

I think I could vote for Newt, despite my deep, deep disappointment in his caving in the face of the '94 (or whenever it was) shutdown. I think Newt is just another flavor of NWO/Washington, DC face.

MTP just came on in on area now. I am not a big fan of Newt, but I am sure that the MSM objective of the interview is part of their Whack a Mole with every Rep candidate who raises his/her head. Just try to destroy the Rep field and make it appear that there is no credible canditate to challenge the One. The reality is that 2012 will be a referendum on Obama.

Just heard Newt trying to position himself as a moderate on the reform of Medicare. Compares the Ryan plan as radical change from the Right. The fact is that only radical change will be needed. Health care drives the budget deficits and it will get worse as the Baby Boomer cohort retires.

I think your take on Newt’s interview is fair and accurate.

He did respond well to that racist thing, God Bless.

Like I said in another comment, I don’t trust the guy. But he’s a very good talker and he brings a deeper dimension to the campaign.

I wish him well. That was one of the toughest interviews ole Gregory has ever given though I agree with you that it was orchestrated by the WH.

Exactly right rod, his compromises were very disappointing rather than stand up to the commie libs. He is trying to be another great moderate like an intellectual McDole. Very articulate and bright but the backbone of Boehner.

Pray for America
