Here’s how Cain could get the nomination:

-Huck doesn’t run - CONFIRMED
-Palin doesn’t run (more likely than many care to admit)
-Trump doesn’t run (??????)
-Newt, Daniels, and Romney are in, along with Crazy Uncle Ron Paul and Herman Cain, plus Santorum and Pawlenty and a few others nobody cares about.

Romney with his recent comments on healthcare doesn’t have the strength he expects, and basically runs neck and neck with Newt. Pawlenty and Daniels are behind the two, but the RINO/establishment vote basically splits between the four of them, all four failing to break 12% as a result.

Those looking for “outsider” experience go mostly to Cain. Social conservatives go to Santorum initially, but Santorum makes a surprisingly weak showing in Iowa and drops out.
Cain picks up most SoCons by default with Huck, Santorum, and Palin out of the race. Deficit hawks split between Cain and Crazy Uncle Ron.

Those looking for business savvy go 50/50 to Romney and Cain, but not enough to give Mitt the win.

Cain wins nomination.

*as long as Trump doesn’t go full douchebag and run as an Independent (although if he enters as a Repub, he probably won’t change the outcome in my scenario in the end)

I think it is more likely someone is running than not running.
Huckabee really shocked me tonight.

I had a friend that use to run for Mayor(Tucson), like clock work. He said he didn't want to be Mayor.
He just liked all of the nice things people would do for him to get him out of the race. He explained, if he only took away 2%, that could be the difference for the stronger candidate. Which could make the difference.

I’m honestly beginning to wonder if any of them REALLY want the mess Barry’s created...they may spend some time looking like they’ll run but when it comes right down to it will they stay the course til the end or drop out.

Sometimes I think the Republicans are willing to let Barry ruin the whole country and then come in thereafter and start over....

Cain can’t beat Obama

I got bent out of shape over his vote on an Obamacare bill but the ONLY one that I think that can beat O is Allen West, unfortunately it looks pretty much like he won’t run

One problem on your Cain scenario. Michele Bachmann, John Bolton, and Trump will jump in, I figure. They will split votes between conservatives. Cain may have to start attacking them.
