Mike Huckabee just announced on his show that he is NOT running for President.
So did I...he seemed to be the best of those still standing by the time the primary got to Maryland.
Does that mean you wouldn’t vote for me either?
Guys - we’re becoming a circular firing squad here over this stuff. Look at what he does and believes, don’t discount a guy because he was guilty of being schmoozed by Mitt as many of us were too.
Look I am sorry it hurts your thin skinned feelings that many on the right see Palin as what she is...a disaster. She has no appeal outside her rabid group of supporters. If she runs even a weak O wins.
We will never agree. In all honesty I can’t and won’t vote for Palin. And there are many out there that agree. We can do better. It isn’t Trump (joke), Mitt (RINO), Newt (Laughable, makes Palin look like a winner), Bachmann (agree with much she says but not electable nationally) or Santorum (wow really??). We need to go with leaders with executive experience. As I posted previously i think someone like John Kaisich stands the best chance against dems this election.
Go on and run to the mods and see if you can get me kicked. I don’t really care. If stating simple facts such as Palin equals political suicide that will allow dems to keep WH is trolling and offensive to your senses then go ahead. There is only one way to prove the argument and either way we both lose, Palin runs and loses I win argument but lose overall. Palin runs and wins, you win argument but country loses due to another “in over head” President.
Good day and hope when the general election comes around we can both vote for a candidate we feel good about (or hold our nose and vote what is best even if we don’t like him/her)
I think even grey_whiskers and i can agree on one thing. No,no,no. Anything but a freakin’ Bush.
How about Cain/Kasich?
I do not know. But I have heard from several friends who are in the party apparatus that we need an unassailable POTUS candidate who can negate the GM/Chrysler story and demonstrate global management and superb financial skills.
Mulally fits the bill nicely.
I have been a Palin/Ryan fan for about two years, but would back Mulally in a heartbeat. He is a Catholic version of Mitt with a better track record and much more global experience.
Some of Huckabee’s decision to run had to have come following the spats he had with Ann Coulter in the past few years and Glenn Beck last month before Osama’s or Usama’s death broke. Both went after Huckabee hard so I bet he was running scared about being attacked should he run. This is why he was basically saying he wasn’t last year before he started doing well in some polls and they was saying he needed time to think. Glad he said no, but we still have Mittens to deal with and now Mitch is thinking it over.
We will never agree. In all honesty I cant and wont vote for Palin.
That's because you are both stupid AND dishonest, being a troll.
And there are many out there that agree. We can do better.
Yes, we *CAN* do better than the RINOs and trolls like you.
You haven't said a single thing of substance about Palin: but merely repeated the teleprompter talking points sent out from the DNC and from Romney and Rove.
The problem is, you can't even do THAT well.
It isnt Trump (joke), Mitt (RINO), Newt (Laughable, makes Palin look like a winner), Bachmann (agree with much she says but not electable nationally) or Santorum (wow really??). We need to go with leaders with executive experience. As I posted previously i think someone like John Kaisich stands the best chance against dems this election.
What a great idea -- have you ever noticed how he left Congress suddenly...? Maybe he has a scandal which will be exploited easily? And how do you get him above 0.00003% in the polls? Not to mention he will be villified as a "FauxNews sockpuppet" -- that is, even IF he can get released from his contract.
Go on and run to the mods and see if you can get me kicked. I dont really care.
I'll call the Waaaaahmbulance if it makes you feel better.
I'll even ask the medics if they have an Obama photo for you to wank over on your way to the Intensive FAIL Unit.
If stating simple facts such as Palin equals political suicide that will allow dems to keep WH is trolling and offensive to your senses then go ahead.
The RINO refrain: we must have "sensible, sober, serious, seasoned candidates like [insert RINO here], or else DOOMAGE."TM
Yeah, everytime a national candidate wins it is because they talk like a true conservative. Didja notice how Prosser beat Kloppy like a rented donkey in Wisconsin despite (literally) 10,000 fraudulent ballots in Madison, and with the national press camped out there over the Union thug strikers, and millions in Union dues spent?
This is the time of the conservative, the time to kick vermin like you Quisling donkey-servicers to the curb.
There is only one way to prove the argument and either way we both lose, Palin runs and loses I win argument but lose overall. Palin runs and wins, you win argument but country loses due to another in over head President.
Obaaaama is over his head, cretin. Palin knows how to look for seasoned pros who evince and effectuate the Palin Doctrine.
And it's Obaaaaama who pushed through the START Treaty with the treasonous vermin in the Senate -- reducing the US to 1200 active warheads. We had, oh, 25,000 to 30,000 during the Cold War.
But let me guess: you are SPECIAL, because (check one):
1) You went to Harvard / Yale / Princeton / Swarthmore but Sarah went to school in Idaho
2) NPR told you so
3) Charles Krauthammer knows better
4) She can see Russia from her house
Wrong on all counts.
Nobody's buying it, sparky. Even with Mark Steyn going against Sarah -- must be some SERIOUS RINO pressure being applied behind the scenes: proof of DESPERATION among the apparatchiks, sycophants, and moles.
Or, to put it another way:
Cheers!
"Long-time lurker" my foot.
Anyways, I’m for a Bachmann/Cain ticket unless I see any other person who is more conservative than either of those two enter the race. Well technically Bachmann is still thinking, but she has been attaining support in various states needed to win like Iowa and New Hampshire. So she has to run at this point.
all those arguments apply much more to the Rookie and the Wookie?
Also -- haven't you figured out yet, Sarah really *loves* Alaska, and isn't into the who power, fame, money thing? Why didn't she parlay her fame into coming to live in the lower 48 (say in Scottsdale, AZ)? Why did she release "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and have it come off as genuine (as opposed to Kerry / Edwards eating chili at a Wendy's and acting like they didn't know which end of the plastic spoon to use?)
Cheers! Cheers!
Correction: I meant Huckabee’s decision not to Run. Lots of people were going to go after him as hard has Glenn beck and Ann Coulter had. Same way Rush has been questioning Mitch Daniels. But, now we have Newt, Mitt and possibly Mitch and also Pawlenty to deal with and all four are not that good.
I can't see that being a major issue in 2012. It should be, people should be in jail, but it won't be. Does anyone know his positions on anything?
WRONG!
Your conclusion rests on the false assumption that the vote total for 2008 will be at the same level or higher in 2012. I disagree.
It’s true independents are always key to any election. It’s true a majority of them finally got the truth exposed about Obama’s real policies. They will NOT be voting for the man this time. That doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily vote for our guy or gal, but at worse, they stay home on election day, go shopping, go to the movies, say f*** politics, etc. And that’s probably a good thing for the country that they do.
Meanwhile, the “rabid” group of supporters you mentioned will be out in full force. They will face a somewhat strong “rabid” group of O-supporters, but not at the strength levels of 2008. You can be certain that what independents vote this time around will be motivated to vote opposition to Obama. Of course, the O-camp will try to paint a Palin as “unacceptable” and “dangerous”, and it will be up to her in the campaign to counter that with conservative ideas.
Either way, whether its Palin, Pawlenty, or whoever, the GOP nominee is pretty much assured 219 Electoral Votes (The McCain States + IN, NC, and VA). From there, it becomes a battle of FL, OH, and one other state to win the nomination.
In FL, the Dems are in big, big, trouble. The convention is in Tampa. Rubio and the RINO combined for almost 80% of the Senate vote to the Democrat’s 20%. Obama is not getting a 50% here this time, nor will he win the I-4 corridor or outperform Democrats in Conservative places like Duval County which helped him beat McCain here last time. Rubio’s campaigning and endorsement here provides enormous help to the GOP nomine (assuming Rubio stays popular).
OH, admittedly, is a tougher go. But once again, if you look at the Obama victory map in OH, he outperformed Democrats in more conservative counties. It was an obvious backlash against McCain, to the point that some OH FReepers were shocked with some of the county-by-county results. Still, the GOP took over everything here, and the inner-cities only get you so far. My guess is this time, the GOP nominee, whether Palin, Pawlenty, or whoever, wins all of Western and Southern Ohio (sans Franklin County), while Obama hold Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, Toledo, and portions of Cincy. It wouldn’t hurt if a Kaisich or Portman were on the ticket either.
That’s 266 votes. From there, pick one to battle. IA(6) is definitely in play with the SoCon vote. CO(9) and NM(5) are also in play given the nominee’s view on immigration. NH(4) less so (unless its Romney). NV(6) also seems to be under voter fraud corruption. WI(10) is looking more and more like a huge toss-up and that Ryan/Feingold race is Really, Really, going to make things interesting there. To a lesser extent, the people of MI(16) seemed to have had enough, but I don’t rule out the Detroit voter machine.
Anyway, the point is Sarah can win. It’s tough like any election, but she can win. Of course, she’s not going to win any traditional blue states like CA, NY, NJ, MA, but neither is anyone else.
I can’t believe it was ever a viable possibility, and I can’t believe that he was ever enough of a player to have an impact on the last cycle. Thank God he isn’t running again.
It is official. You have a serious case of Palin Derangement Syndrome. I was claiming Palinism was a cult tongue in cheek. After 24 hours of seeing your delusion regarding her I have to admit there may be something more to it. Don’t get suicidal when she doesn’t even make it out of Super Tuesday friend.
Not going to bed is a good reason for me to get a laptop — I’d doze off, realize it was time to quit, and shut the lid and put it aside. Nice rationalization, eh?
Have a great day!
ad hominem without substance: the beginning and end of the troll.
I was claiming Palinism was a cult tongue in cheek.
Here's the relevant line, for those watching at home:
And I do believe there is a cult of palin out there just like a cult of Obama which is people believe they can do know wrong.
That came from your post #201 which somehow GOT REMOVED BY THE MODS.
Pretty cute to make reference to a post of your own hoping that nobody could check on it.
Lie through your teeth. Typical TROLL.
After 24 hours of seeing your delusion regarding her I have to admit there may be something more to it.
You're off your meds, apparently. This started when I noted you had made six or seven posts total in the last FIVE YEARS. Pathognomonic for trolldom.
Dont get suicidal when she doesnt even make it out of Super Tuesday friend.
Stop projecting your own hopelessness onto me: she hasn't even declared yet. I'd recommend you stay away from corrosive liquids and sharp objects.
Cheers!
Look I want a fiscal conservative candidate to win. The social issues many on here consider primary concerns are secondary to me. All I am looking for is someone with a fiscal track record, experience in executive leadership, and will stay out of my life and my wallet. Palin may be a nice person but she proved her mettle bailing out of her one chance to prove herself in Alaska. Not New York, or California, or Texas....but Alaska. What is she going to do when the real players start attacking her in DC? She just is not up to the job. To be honest there is not one current candidate that comes close as of yet. Luckily there is still plenty of time once the sideshow candidates (Santorum, Trump, Paul, Gingrich, Bachmann, Palin, et al) and the retreads (Romney, Newt (double mention),potential Jeb) are weeded out and real solid choices come to the forefront.
I guess we will know who is right in a few months. And just for future reference not agreeing with you in lockstep does not make one a troll, perhaps an evolved thinker, but not a troll. Hope you have a good day. This has been enjoyable. We agree on nothing but that is to be expected in politics.
Being unable to do more than parrot MSM / RINO talking points against Sarah, followed by extensive ad hominem when one has been savaged, had posts removed, and had one's TROLL posting history reveealed, DOES make one a troll.
The mere reference to "evolved thinker" gives it away.
Here's a hint, sparky. Write it down, or your IQ in the low 30's will forget it.
Grey_Whiskers' First Law:
"The true measure of a man's stature is given not in what he brags about, but in what he takes for granted."
Therefore -- those who brag the most about education, higher thought, evolved thinking, etc., are the ones most given to psittacosis.
This has been enjoyable.
Back to your S&M / rape fantasies, as per your deleted post #201?
We agree on nothing but that is to be expected in politics.
That's odd, you said you were a long-time FReeper, you should know the basic points on which FReepers agree.
Again outing yourself as a contemptible liar and troll.
Cheers!
