Mike Huckabee just announced on his show that he is NOT running for President.
Here’s how Cain could get the nomination:
-Huck doesnt run - CONFIRMED
-Palin doesnt run (more likely than many care to admit)
-Trump doesnt run (??????)
-Newt, Daniels, and Romney are in, along with Crazy Uncle Ron Paul and Herman Cain, plus Santorum and Pawlenty and a few others nobody cares about.
Romney with his recent comments on healthcare doesnt have the strength he expects, and basically runs neck and neck with Newt. Pawlenty and Daniels are behind the two, but the RINO/establishment vote basically splits between the four of them, all four failing to break 12% as a result.
Those looking for outsider experience go mostly to Cain. Social conservatives go to Santorum initially, but Santorum makes a surprisingly weak showing in Iowa and drops out.
Cain picks up most SoCons by default with Huck, Santorum, and Palin out of the race. Deficit hawks split between Cain and Crazy Uncle Ron.
Those looking for business savvy go 50/50 to Romney and Cain, but not enough to give Mitt the win.
Cain wins nomination.
*as long as Trump doesn’t go full douchebag and run as an Independent (although if he enters as a Repub, he probably won’t change the outcome in my scenario in the end)
I guess the next round of Republican primary candidate preference polls will be more interesting than the previous ones.
Nice guy, but...yeah he killed those cops up in Washington, was it...?
It’s GOOD he’s not running.
And I think he’s a crappy replacement for Paul Harvey.
Nice guy, but I think he should just go be a Scout Master.
Interesting how our pals over at NRO—and the ‘experts’ they interview—don’t even consider Palin in the equation of the Huck vote, even though polls have shown she gains the most by Huck being out:

PALIN will now JUMP up in the polls. I predicted that the HUCK voters will go primarily to PALIN. She will now have clear daylight in the IOWA game.
Remember, the gamble he is making is that he is the ONLY candidate running against Obama in the primaries and caucuses.
Duh. Easy call.
Here’s actually the NRO ‘Who gains?’ analysis:

It’s understandable that you feel the way you do but the Bible states otherwise. God Himself determines those who will reign. The U.S. has been an abomination for decades...we are now experiencing things out of our control; but, they are in God’s realm.
I know that screws up a lot of minds around here ~ public highways ~ but they're a fact of life, and if you don't have them the biggest event in your day is going to be when the razorback hog runs through your front yard and cases the chickens around the cabin.
Oh damn.
The good news just keeps coming today!
But, but, it’s his turn, doncha’ know? /s
I still say Rove is going to trot out Jeb Bush. Ultra RINO.
I had a friend that use to run for Mayor(Tucson), like clock work. He said he didn't want to be Mayor.
He just liked all of the nice things people would do for him to get him out of the race. He explained, if he only took away 2%, that could be the difference for the stronger candidate. Which could make the difference.
Look for Herman Cain to pull into second or third place.
“Im not a Huckster supporter at all, but why the glee?
Would he pull primary votes from somebody youre favoring?”
I think the concern was that he would pull the evangelical vote for the “true” conservative (TBA). Which I understand.
I like Huck and could have voted for him but of course he was not the perfect candidate.
Excellent!
