NY-26: Jack Davis is the First Tea-In-Name-Only

NY-26 special election may not be in the forefront of conservative minds, but the race has serious national implications:
"A win by the Democrat in this Republican district -- even if created by a phony Tea Party candidate siphoning off votes from the Republican-- will be spun as a major victory for Obama. You will hear nothing but how it signals Obama's turnaround, how it reflects Obama's new found popularity after the bin Laden kill, and how it signals unhappiness with Republicans.
You will not hear a word in the MSM about the fact that Davis is not a real Tea Party candidate, and instead this will further be portrayed as part of a schism in the Republican Party and reflecting how the Tea Party movement hurts Republicans."
A recent NY-26 poll clearly shows that progressive Kathy Hochul has taken the lead in NY-26 special election due to Jack Davis' showing on a ballot line called the Tea Party. While Jack Davis is running as a Tea Party candidate, his record shows that he does not share the same beliefs.
Jack Davis has been endorsed by ACORN's own NY political party, the Working Family Party. He is ardently pro-abortion and even supports partial birth abortions.
Davis' signature issue is a new tariff program that is advocated by Keynesian and far-left economist Paul Krugman. In short, it is another central planning scheme that makes Smoot-Hawley look like free-trade. He is opposed to any and all entitlement reform at the federal level. His campaign manager is a progressive consultant who called the Tea Party "a harbinger of midlife crisis."
While the Tea Party was protesting Obama's socialist agenda in 2009, Jack Davis was sending campaign donations to Democrats who voted in favor of Obama policies. One donation in particular was sent to Louise Slaughter one week after cap and trade passed. Louise Slaughter is one of the most liberal congresswomen in the House and was the Democrat leader who came up with the "deem and pass" rule for Obamacare.
Jack Davis has been subject to allegations of fraud and bribery. When asked to clarify his liberal past, Jack Davis told the media "I've always believed in smaller government and less taxes." I wonder which smaller government, less taxes principle was at play when he supported Barak Obama in 2008.
In supporting Democrats under presidential candidate Obama, Jack Davis said he'd "do everything in (his) power to get them elected in November." Seemingly, Jack Davis hasn't changed much in two years.

Maybe we should get on the phone and tell all the democrats to vote for the green party guy, Ian something-or-other. There is no way this district should turn blue. One appearance by Palin denouncing that tea party guy and the Republucan would win.

We need to come up with another NAME, see how many jump on and take credit for that one. I have a name for them but they may not bite if they know what it really means...

Thanks for posting all of the article. And for preserving the links.
Real Tea Party patriots won’t be fooled a bit by this.

I have no hope of conservatives winning in NY or in many other states. The best I can hope for is a Republican.
But NY actually has a Conservative Party.

He’s not the first, as I posted the other day. It was tried in Ocean County, NJ, in November. PUBLICITY!!! is what saved the Republican. A huge force of volunteers is needed. Get the word out.

The whole TP movement has really fizzled out. The propaganda media and Rat subterfuge has been quite effective.

We need help ok, I have been saying this for 2 months. Finally now after I have been yelling from the mountain tops people are starting to listen. I did not want to me involved in this race but now I am right smack in the middle of it.
I have been publicly attacked by this rogue tea party and their wacko libertarian leaders that are hell bent on defeating the machine.
The past week has been pure hell as I have dedicated most of my time to this campaign and ignoring my own business. Monday TEA Party Express comes to town, TEA Party Patriots helping, Freedom works?, others are finally helping. I just wish the hell it didn’t take so long we would not be playing catch up.
Of course things are made worse with the local republicans bad mouthing the TEA Party, last year the chairmen were calling us dead and a myth. Now they are begging us for help. If we lose this seat to the democrats then only they are to blame, they have pissed off so many people, people from all around are telling them to go to hell.
See my dilemma here? Please ping others to this post, I am buried in campaign work.

Horrible candidate, and he pretends to be a Tea Party candidate. How can anyone buy that?

I think everyone in the district understands that Davis is a nut job. Dems love him, the Republicans won't x his ballot, and the Perot-Paladino-Trumpers are just going to do what they're going to do anyway, bless their little hearts.
The 26th is pretty solidly Republican, i.e., most people work for a living and pay attention. Jane Corwin is savvy and sincere and I'm guessing she will be just fine.

DAvis is getting 20%+ in the polls. New Yorkers, like other Americans, are lazy, ignorant and smug about it.

All conservatives in his district ought to write a letter to the editor, or call a talk show, to inform their fellow conservatives about Davis.
