Being questioned by officials at Ft Leonard Wood —according to AP, it means the guard examined his ID and found it lacking.

OK, I can sorta see how it can happen that this guy got away from the gate guard....

So he was in his car, and the gate guard no doubt had a holstered pistol. Car drives off, and by the time the gate gaurd can pull his gun, he no longer has a clean shot.

What I don't understand, though, is how the guy got back off the base. Don't they have barriers to prevent exactly that sort of thing?

I think the security arrangements at Ft. Leonard Wood are about to receive some very uncomfortable scrutiny...

What’s gonna happen is the Post Commander is going to issue
(more) new regs that restrict access to firearms for on post personnel.

And thn he will claim he solved the problem.
