I love the way these debauched satyrs reinvent themselves when they are in their 60’s and facing the flames of Hell.

One minor.......and I do mean MINOR detail. If a man in his late 20’s is having carnal knowledge with a 14 year old child, it is defined as rape. If a man, who is given legal custody of a 14 year old child has sex with his charge, it is an incestuous rape. As far as I know, there is no statute of limitations for a rape charge, and there is written proof. The parents of the child should have charges brought against them for pimping their daughter for profit, and I am sure you could prove the profit part too.

She realized it would be impossible to raise a child with him given his out-of-control substance abuse and rock-and-roll lifestyle.

Sheesh. She waited until the child was born before she figure that out?

I guess the lesson here is that even some of the most debauched individuals have moments of sanity.

The fact that he sees the act as terribly wrong now, and is willing to provide testimony about it, could actually influence others to take a different path.

God works in mysterious ways. Tyler’s testimonial will probably make a lot more sense to some kids, than their own parents advice, even though it would basically be the same message.

I am suffering no delusions concerning Tyler’s present condition either.

The traumatic effect of abortion is an established reality despite the desperate denials of the psych associations. I find it hard to fault someone who seeks to heal from the effects of what he/she has done.

You are a much more charitable person than I.

I hope this is the only baby of an underaged girl that Tyler had aborted.

Ironic that now he has only daughters...no sons.

“Tyler persuaded the parents of his 14-year-old girlfriend, Julia Holcomb, to make him her legal guardian”

....WHAT?!?!?....wonder if cash greased the skids.

Rip ‘im all you want from your vantage point. I personally find, even as an evangelical Christian, self-righteousness to be more than a bit annoying.

The man wasn’t a saint, no. By the way, as to his becoming the guardian/lover of an underaged girl...Ted Nugent....whom I love and most here do, as well.....did exactly the same thing. Don’t see him being verbally castrated here.

It was a different time. Rock is its own world. Don’t judge. Tyler, by all accounts, is now one hell of a guy and has a big heart. I believe it, just as I know Ted has changed in his latter years.

For others who point and crow at these guys, imagine yourself as a young, 20-something rock star with gorgeous babes throwing themselves at you everywhere you go, people giving you anything you want at any time, people adoring you on stage night after night, year after year....live that life for a while then tell me what a priest you’d be.

Amen.

I didn’t find the lord until I was 38 years old. I was a pretty rotten guy. The self righteous are no better or worse than I am or was. I am far more put of by them than than those who profess no faith at all.

Matt 6:1: 1”Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.”

Matt 6:5-7: 5”And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

For whatever reason, some people have a desire and the talent to be that way. I have two brothers who had that Rock Star desire, and while they never made the big time, they still make a little money on the side, in various local bands, although they have normal real jobs in the daytime. They've ended up fairly decent citizens, make their own living, don't depend upon others.

Who knows why some do, and some don't? I certainly never had that desire, and glad I didn't. I imagine I could have descended into the debauchery, if I did.

Not self righteous, not a Priest, just some with NORMAL sensibilities. If Ted Nugent, or Pope Paul did this, they deserve to go to jail. There are 100’s of WOMEN throwing themselves at you, so you CHOOSE a 14 year old child? You can’t dismiss this. If it were my daughter at the time, and Tyler was my favorite rock star, I still would have gone after him with a baseball bat.

he regrets it because the baby was a boy....I suppose it wouldn’t bother him so much if the baby was just a girl....

Yeah that's what I find most remarkable about the whole article.

Parents of the Year candidates.

According to the article, if I read it correctly; He felt it was wrong right after. And paid the price in many ways.

People, and I use that term loosely, talked him and the girl into it. Probably band managers, record producers and all the clinger ons.

But yes, his spiral into the depths of rage, drugs and depression should be a lesson. And if he’s willing to testify to it, all the better.
