What the heck are you talking about? That’s not how Freepers act around here. We do not send threatening emails or make phone calls to other members. Besides, phone numbers are not required at sign up.
Maybe you should go over to DU and ask them. Sounds more like their MO.
FReepers are bright enough to use the listings to get a TV station's phone numbers...but "threatening" phone calls are definitely not the "FReeper Way."
While FR is definitely better than cesspools like DU, it does disturb me when some posters don't have a very high standard of evidence for the claims they post. Often, I get called a "troll" for correcting errors when the corrections are not seen as "conservative," but, to me, conservatism doesn't need falsehoods. (If it does, then why are we supporting it.) Plus, I want FR to be a reliable source of information.
It's not fun being wrong, but it happens to all of us and all we can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. I try very hard to be sure of my sources, but I recently required a very embarrassing correction from Brown Deer over a misstatement I posted. That's a reminder to me that I need to check before posting.
Let's hope that if LynneLai's claim is correct, FR will be glad for the correction and each of us will use it as a reminder that to be careful about what we post.
