Case in point...uber-lefty Sean Penn spends a helluva lot more time than a few hours and a helluva lot more money than few dollars working in Haiti. We see a picture of him there and he gets dumped on for being nothing but a publicity hound.
Palin spends just a few hours and maybe some of her own money in Alabama. The pictures are posted within hours for all to see and she's a saint with the purist of motives.
I say nonsense.
Now, if we found out months later through some obscure source that she had made such a trip totally without cameras or facebook postings that would be different.
Sean Penn comes home and supports people who steal money from one class of Citizens to give to others, Citizens and Illegal Aliens alike.
Mr. Penn might have good intentions when he shows up to help the poor, but his belief system is in direct conflict with what he is trying to accomplish. The road is paved with good intentions, but defining those intentions is a bit tricky.
I can assure you Sean Penn doesn't motivate the Left to help the particular cause when he blows into town. He just creates and enforces their “us against them” mentality.
First you use Daily Kos talking points to attack Palin with on other threads, now you are using Sean Penn as a hero to look up to.
thanks for the clarity.
This is Palin's third time with Samaritan's Purse. Good to see them helping people even if it's for one or two days at a time. Good to see Samaritan's Purse getting the publicity.
I have a kid currently involved with a similar samaritan type of group.
You're convinced Palin did this mostly, or partly, for positive publicity for herself. Yet one thing she does, or to be more accurate, doesn't do, is publicize to whom and how much she donates to charities, Church(es), etc. If she really wanted to be thought of as 'St Sarah' she would make sure the press was told of every cent or minute of her time that was given.
She simply did a good deed here, Now, ask her where she stands on ethanol handouts, that would be a fair question.
