President Obama says he decided not to release photos of Osama bin Ladens corpse because they could put national security at risk and serve as a propaganda tool for extremists.
We don't trot out this stuff as trophies, Obama said in an interview with 60 Minutes, according to a transcript read by White House press secretary Jay Carney at his briefing on Wednesday. I think Americans and people around the world are glad that he is gone. But we don't need to spike the football.
Obama said in the interview that DNA testing and facial analysis confirmed that bin Laden had been killed in the Sunday raid in Pakistan, and that making public very graphic photos of someone shot in the head would serve to inflame enemies passions.

In World War II dead Japanese were not used as trophies. However Jap (using the vernacular of the day)skulls were used as ash trays. I hope that when the photos of OBL come out the image will be used for urinal screens.

Nobody trusts you, Barry.

We don’t need to spike the football, that will happen over and over again on the campaign trail.

Horrible. Totally inappropriate. Only someone who neither understands sports nor national security would use that expression under these circumstances. Part of being president is knowing when to say, “Dead or alive,” and when not to.

This decision would have been far better if they had not mulled it over in public for 3 days. He makes all his decisions like this it seems...
Mull it over, check polls, float one officials statement, float another, mull it over, check the polls, sleep on it, decide.

Barry (100% partisan politics all of the time) Obama didn't have any problem with corpseman so he shouldn't have any problem with a picture of a corpse. C’mon, Barry, Spike It!

I always thought it sounded stupid when sports figures expressed sports things in military/war vernacular.
Thanks to Obama, I now realize it sounds even more stupid in reverse.

because they could put national security at risk and serve as a propaganda tool for extremists ACK! Government is letting them in by the planeload, but they worry about a picture putting national security at risk?

Alleged abuse photos of terrorist prisoners by US military is propaganda fodder but Obama wanted that released to all.

Who knows, maybe he and he was hooked up to a dialysis machine when they showed up or obviously frail and bed ridden. It's just seems strange all the way around, especially since not all that long ago Barry thought it was fine to court marshal SEALS for giving someone a fat lip.

Obama doesn't know the difference between corpse and corps anyway. He just says and does whatever is on the teleprompter.

Liberals have no problem releasing inflammatory material every day so long as it somehow shows the US in a bad light. But Obama clearly wants to show respect for the late Emir of al Qaeda, as part of his continuous fawning on America’s enemies, while spitting on our friends.

They want to kill us. Are we afraid they are going to kill us twice or three times?
