Unconscionable. Politicizing. A slap in the face. Those were the kinds of phrases the left deployed against President George W. Bush to suggest he was exploiting the memory of the terrorist attacks of 9/11. These same voices are now giddy with delight at the prospect of President Obamas mission accomplished visit to Ground Zero on Thursday. Such hypocrisy is par for the course.
Under other circumstances the planned wreath-laying would invite less controversy. Honoring those who fell on 9/11 days after Osama bin Ladens demise is fitting. Given the care Mr. Obama ordered be given bin Ladens remains, it would be unseemly if the killer received more respect than his victims. Yet liberal Democrats have poisoned the well over the past decade, lending Mr. Obamas actions the appearance of opportunistic political theater - particularly given the approach of the 2012 campaign season.
In the spring of 2004, Democrats and liberals were outraged at images of 9/11 responders that appeared in a Bush campaign ad. Its a slap in the face of the murders of 3,000 people, said Monica Gabrielle, whose husband Richard died in the attacks. It is unconscionable. Mrs. Gabrielle helped run a group called September 11th Advocates and was then-Senator Hillary Clintons guest at the State of the Union address in 2006. No politics involved in any of that apparently. When John Kerry ran an ad later in 2004 featuring widows of men killed in the attack the left was fine with it. Theres a big difference, the Kerry campaign blustered, between using footage of ground zero, which is hallowed ground - and politicizing it - and someone coming to us wanting to pursue intelligence reform and advance our countrys security. Sure there is, tell us another one.

You make a great point, I’d bet none also but they’ll cheer Zer0 on for this because of the upcoming election.
I'm not sure any other event has blown the cover off the shameless hypocrisy of the left more clearly than this has.
I don't think there has. ;-)
I agree 100%.
Obama spiking the football at ground zero!
After hearing Zer0's speech, you'd think Rambo Obama pulled the trigger himself. Enough with his 'I deserve the credit' talk. Just give credit to the guys that pulled the triggers. Mr. I, I, I, me, me me, Obama remains the most unqualified president in American history. Taking credit for being in the right place at the right time while others did all the work just shows his sick ego peaking through the mask he wears. The death of bin Laden has nothing to do with the core beliefs of this President or the entire liberal movement. I don't credit any liberal policy with this successful Seal Team operation. All the piss-stream media girly-boys want to do is get little Barry re-elected via the bin Laden story, but it's way wrong and way to early for that. I'm sure you'll think up something else rather than portray him as a military hero to sway a propaganda-befuddled electorate. But remember this, he's no Commander in Chief and taking credit for his being one is just wrong and sickening to most real Americans. Spin it all you want; it wasn't libs who were responsible for GITMO and enhanced interrogation that caught Osama. In 2010 Biden said on the Sunday morning talk shows that waterboarding does not work. So here's one time that Zer0 can announce to the country: ''Bush did it!'' The first thing this administration did was to go after the interrogators who got the information that we just used. Yes, this man has brought out such raw emotion that it is very hard to celebrate anything he does short of resigning.

We are right back to the Obama that had to see himself on television at least twice a month. This man is so completely enamored with himself that he just can’t pass up on an opportunity to be in the limelight. I would imagine that he is seeing himself in history books of the future taking the bows for the job that Bush’s Navy Seals have done. And, since the libs write history, I am relatively certain he is correct. The one thing we can hope for is that this pretender is a one-term President - no amount of re-writing of history can whitewash that.
I agree, and if he’s not a one-termer we will be in a world of hurt. The only thing that would save us is a sweep of the Senate and House so we can make him ineffective.
As much as the press might want to play it down, I just cannot see the 2010 trend reversing itself. The only thing coming into play is that, with Obama on the ticket, you can bet the fraud machine will be well greased and running. I still suspect that much of the stimulus money has been set aside to impact the 2012 election. Obama’s bragging point about raising 1 billion for his re-election is likely true - the only part he isn’t letting out is that much of this 1 billion is stimulus money given to unions and now coming back to him.
Knows no bounds.

Almost sounds like Barabbas and Christ. Release the guilty, punish the innocent.
