I only caught a little of Beck today. Generally agree with Beck, but this time I thought he was way off base.
He had a retired guy from the special forces on, and in my opinion Glenn was talking over him and trying to bait the guy, but the guy held firm.
In short, I got that Beck thought it was a mistake to have killed the snake because of the ramifications.
If this is not the stance of a coward who is to afraid to do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may, then I am clueless.
Of course, I may have this wrong. If anyone heard the entire segment and has other views, please share them.
I felt Glenn 'jumped the shark' today.
His head...on a pike...at Ground Zero.
You can’t be afraid of ramifications.
You can only do what is right with a firm backbone.
Both the radio show and on TV, Glenn was wringing his hand over killing this filth because something bad might happen. I had to turn the TV show off after the first break because of it. Of course he through in the obligatory “I’m glad he’s dead.” but the whole tenor was what you cited. Glenn is way off base. I don’t recall any provocation for 911. They will attack any time they have the chance. Glenn’s constant panic routine is becoming more and more unfounded and tired.
He also said that Pasteurized milk is dangerous this morning. Stemming from a discussion on the Gov’t cracking down on raw milk sales, in the last 30 min of the show Stew and him got into it on whether Pasteurizing food was a good thing or not. Glenn hemmed and hawed around and then said he found it unsafe and implied that the FDA was dangerous to our health. When pushed on the assertion by Stu, Glenn said that he has done a lot of food research and knows what he is talking about. The research he has done is while involved with Don Imus’s bizarre cancer diet Glenn has been on for a couple months. The whole thing was very conspiratorial considering all the mocking of the Deathers today and his total trashing of the Birthers last week.
Another baseless and crackpot theory based on his limited knowledge of an issue.
“I agree with you. I am thinking anyone who looks like a muslim will be hated, victimized or even killed before to much longer.”
WTF are you talking about?? NO ONE said anything like that!
Did you “sure respect” Beck when he was advocating a Value Added Tax or when he was trashing conservative Rep. Hayworth for John McCain?
I tuned in tonight and I think Beck’s cheese has slipped off the plate.
On other threads I have voiced my belief in the ‘Road Warrior’ scenario IE everything going to hell. I really think that it will have to get that bad before some among us wake the hell up and realize the very real danger we are in.
People are so used to simply going to the store, swiping a card and getting their nice govt inspected/approved product/food of choice. How many will be unable to cope with the reality of Houston/Peoria/Smallburg America being a Beirut battle zone where such modern and common things are a fond memory?
How many times do the Islamic whack jobs have to give us detailed information on their plan to conquer us and instill Sharia before someone (with any authority) says “Ya know? There just might be something to all this...perhaps they mean it”.
Forgive my ranting...God I get so frigging frustrated with our ‘leaders’ on this (and many others) issue.
If we had taken him alive, Holder would have put him on trial in NY and lose.
Beck was questioning this “debate” over releasing the photo...that it was either phony, or they were clueless. All this stuff about Pakistan should not have been a matter of debate, they’ve know about OBL since February.
Different folks getting different things...that’s why it’s entertainment.
That was not my take on Beck, even though his delivery/style on this subject (the righteous killing of Bin Laden) over the past two days has been confusing.
Beck Point 1
Beck today asked the audience to focus on the Obama Administration’s prepared response to Bin Laden’s death, given the fact that they (highly touted/paid Administration officials) have known for months (or at least weeks) that questions would be raised about Pakistan, the photos, conspiracy theories, etc.
Beck was criticizing the Obama Administration for being ill-prepared for the aftermath.
Beck Point 2
Beck then linked the ill-preparedness of the Administration (Pakistan relations, photos, etc.) to Beck’s recent overall concerns (domestic and international) that the Obama Administration is actively seeking to disrupt the US by creating situations that promote instability.
Beck hypothisyzed (sp) that the assassination of Bin Laden could lead to a nuclear attack by Islamic terrorists.
If that happened (Paris, London, Houston) it would help the Obama Administration and other socialists/communists, etc. to undermine the US. (I did not watch the whole Beck episode, I rarely do, but that’s the gist I got from the first 20-or-so minutes)
To sum up, I think you are wrong. Beck celebrated the killing of Bin Laden, but the point of his show has been to raise the alarm about actions taken by the Obama Administration (communists, socialists, etc.) to disrupt the US.
Beck was simply asking whether the way in which the Administration conducted the (IMHO fully justified) killing helped the US, or helped those who seek to undermine the US.
BTW, Muslims across the planet from Detroit to Indonesia to Iran To Iraq, etc. will have different reactions to OBL’s death. Wonderfull. I would release the pictures, because in the key area that matters (the Pakistan/Afghan border) their tradition was to put your enemy’s head on a pike as a warning.
I would respect their culture in that way. The NYT’s would not understand it, but our most active enemies would.
Holder is only interested in Cheney under oath.
You know, if I were to capture OBL I might put together a nice little Islamic burial at sea on a carrier while he was being hauled below decks for a little gentle waterboarding and a nice chat.
I might put a few pictures on the internet too.
But that’s just me of course.
There’s a whole lot of god ol boys loaded for bear in these parts that would rather die than have their country taken from them.
Who said they were??????
Read my words that began with.....”I am thinking....”
Respect is an interesting word. One can respect someone and still be totally apposed to them. For someone as smart as Glenn, he sure can be stupid.
It might have been nice to take him alive, announce to the world he’s dead (so no rescue attempts or lawyers or diplomats trying save him or make a name for themselves)... sweat him for what little he knows and “then” drop him in the Indian Ocean somewhere.
He should have been killed only after his sex-change operation so that he could be buried in a pigskin burkha.
That would keep the Muslim nutjobs from idolizing that freak.
‘_______limited knowledge of an issue.’
TO DETRACTORS:
Leave raw dairy products alone!!
We raised 4 daughters on raw milk going back almost 40 years, up until we couldn’t get it any longer because of witch hunts, dag nab it!
We all ate raw butter and cheese, also.
You have never tasted real milk, cheese or butter unless you’ve had RAW!
And we had it delivered to the doorstep, too!
Later we bought it at a health food store.
We’ve had info for years, also, and pasturized products deserved to be looked at skeptically.
It’s amazing how people react stupidly/negatively to something like raw dairy products - from ultra-clean dairies - when they don’t know what the heck they’re talking about.
No fan of the FDA, but you knew that - - - !
And finally, we are CONSERVATIVES, in case one wondered. Liberals have no strangle-hold on organic ‘designer’ or whatever foods!
If one insists that less than really good food is okay, then be my guest.
Not talking KOBE beef or ‘extreme’ foods here.
Always recommend buying anything organic when it’s reasonably priced; or even a bit higher than non-organic.
