(CNN) — The operation that killed Osama bin Laden was designed to do just that, not to take him alive, a U.S. government official told CNN Monday.
DNA matching is under way on samples from the body of the slain terrorist leader, the official said. There are photographs of the body with a gunshot wound to the side of the head that shows an individual who is not unrecognizable as bin Laden, the official said.
No decision has yet been made on whether to release the photographs and if so, when and how.

Whether or not it's true, the story appears somewhat concocted with elements for distraction, especially for those who keep hoping for the best, despite the evidence that Barry is a liar with a red-diaper past and who-in-the-world knows where his loyalties lie and who parties with heads of multi-nationals in Rio and golfs all the time.
A. If you express any doubt about the death of OBL or the method of dealing with it, you are seen as attacking our Seals or our military servicemembers.
B. Saying they hid behind women - makes you say, "ah told you so" and make bacon jokes. Great fodder for the mind to distract from say, a highly weird burial-at-sea.
C. Shrine-building? Wouldn't that just make an excellent piece of fly-paper? Isn't that why we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan? To create "flypaper" for the bad guys, instead of having them attack the US at home? That's what I was told. So, to magically say, "we didn't want to have a shrine" as an excuse to dump a body into the sea, seems strange.

We finally killed that Rat Bastard. Thanks to all of our Special Operation teams like the Navy Seals, CIA, all our military members,President Obama who gave the orders yesterday to go in and take him out. And especially of course former President Bush who got the ball rolling. Kudos to all of you!!

I don’t know what or who to believe anymore. The first reports last night on Fox News said Bin Laden was killed a week ago but hey were waiting for DNA that they got from his relatives to match-which it supposedley did. ALL of the anchors including Greta and Geraldo reported this.
THEN Obama got on and read a week old speech and didn’t even notice the faux pax’s he was making. My husband and I looked at each other increduously. TWICE in the speech, Obama said TODAY I issued an order to kill Bin Laden, and said it again later as if the act happened yesterday...
When Geraldo came back on he was more subdued. Then for the rest of the evening they never followed any of the rules of journalism.-Who, what, where, why and WHEN.. All they said is Obama Bin Laden was killed. It was listed as breaking news, but noone said what day or time he was killed! they all actually covered up for Obama’s mistake of just reading the speech and changing nothing-not even the part about us waiting to report until we had the DNA.
Then, I woke up this morning waiting to see the pictures and find out when we were going to get the DNA proof, and I hear he was “buried at sea:??? WTF?
If he IS dead, how do we know he didn’t die peacefully in his sleep from the kidney failure he was in, and Obama is now taking credit for the death?
