Well done and a hearty Bravo! to the strike team. Whether it was done under the previous administration or the current one doesn’t matter - the US showed that you can run, but you can’t hide (forever).
As for those taking umbrage with Obama’s use of the phrase “at my direction”, I would expect that Presidential authorization would be required for a kill/capture strike in a country that is an ally (for the moment, anyway). But hoping that the usual suspects will be able to drag themselves out of their anti-Obama fug is probably too much to ask.
Again, to the guys (and girls) involved in the operation, well done.
Congratulations to the United States Military, the United States Intelligence agencies, and George W. Bush.

It takes a load of my chest - I always feared OBL would be killed and/or caught on the eve of the first presidential debate. At least that potential surprise is no more.

Actually, within days of 9/11, Bush signed an Exec Order making Osama a specific target for assasination. Obama did not have to re-authorize unless, of course, he had revoked specifically Bush’s earlier Exec Order.

I disagree - they were afraid of Bush/Cheney (9/11 happened in large part because Clinton let OBL et al get by numerous times), but they don’t fear BHO - quite the contrary. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t been talking with them in private.

I love how he stumbled over the word "Abbottabad." I'm pretty sure he almost said "0bamabot."
I don’t have cable, I have a ROKU and was watching the coverage on Al al jezeera english, since that’s the only news I could find that was live. Someone came on afterwards and talked about three or four discrepancies.

Uhh, Yes, that’s correct. In a covert operation like this I have no doubt that Obama gave the final go-ahead on this.
That wouldn’t be unusual, since this could easily have (and still might) turned into an international incident, since US forces carried out the raid deep inside Pakistan.
Gotta give the guy credit for this one. I have no trouble with it. The President did the right thing.
