It didnt take long for some of President Obamas doubters to claim the long-awaited birth certificate posted online by the White House on Wednesday had been altered or might be a fake.
But a leading software expert says theres no doubt about its authenticity, and he dismisses claims of fraud as flat-out wrong.
The doubters have latched onto the idea that Adobe Illustrator the premier program for computer graphic artists reveals evidence of document manipulation in the Obama birth certificate. They note Illustrator reveals nine separate layers of the document, and claim its proof the file has been altered.
But thats not so, says Jean-Claude Tremblay, a leading software trainer and Adobe-certified expert, who has years of experience working with and teaching Adobe Illustrator.
You should not be so suspicious about this, Tremblay told FoxNews.com, dismissing the allegations.

He said the layers cited by doubters are evidence of the use of common, off-the-shelf scanning software not evidence of a forgery. I have seen a lot of illustrator documents that come from photos and contain those kind of clippingsand it looks exactly like this, he said.
Tremblay explained that the scanner optical character recognition (OCR) software attempts to translate characters or words in a photograph into text. He said the layers cited by the doubters shows that software at work and nothing more.

I don’t think you can make any definitive assumptions about whether this is a fraud by looking at text alignment. This could just be the difference between an experienced typist versus a novice. Someone who has filled out hundreds of these would have tab settings for all the entries whereas someone who has only done a couple might very well look like Obama’s. But perhaps this does tell you that the location of where the document was generated could very well be different - but even that would be somewhat speculative.
Correct, "if" the quality of the pixelated image is good enough for OCR software to read it. If not, then garbage. I saw no evidence of text data in the .pdf. (except for the information concerning the Mac and internal Mac software)

In my opinion trying technical analysis on the scanning of what the HI Dept. of Health sent in print form is a fruitless effort. I they had sent a data file in .pdf format, it might have been another issue.
So, what was it about that document that left us thinking of it as a forgery?
My thought was "My word that was a third-world hellhole ~ only the rich and powerful were born in hospitals there, and birth registrations were not uniformly done"
That kind of took the wind out of that particular document. But now that we find it had the right dates and times on it, I guess that proves it really was a forgery put out there to mess with our heads.
Remember, when you're caught in a lie the courts don't have to believe you on anything.
What I find odd is the fact that you have been proved wrong on other threads....yet you keep posting the same crap.
Link please, to keep the facts all in one thread. thanks.
What do you mean "It CAN" ???
that is THE ONE AND ONLY PURPOSE of OCR software- to try to turn an image of text (like a photgraph or a scanned page like newspaper or a printed document) into text you can edit in an editor.
.... depending on settings??? what settings???
It just keeps coming....
Someone else had a picture of 3 different comma types in the Obama document.
This is worse than the 2008 COLB forgeries by far. Not even close. How can anyone defend this obvious forgery at this point? This thing is 100% bogus. Mechanically, image-wise...it is a complete fake.
I suppose they could have looked in there earlier if they'd really wanted to of course, but I'm sure you get the idea. The form doesn't drive the process ~ it follows the process.
That is a BS statment...
If all these people think it is normal to scan an image into a PDF file and get layers THEN PROVE IT
It should be easy to open the software and show me
That is the most convincing evidence of the fakery of the Obama document I have seen yet. Have you sent that evidence to anyone in the news?
Go find an early 1960s Hawaii LFBC with centered text.
Then come back and we will discuss.
Centered fields...with a 1961 typewriter....yeah....
You must be well under 50 years old.
That one, at that time, in the local language, was fairly gutteral ~ so, knowing that, someone substituting an existing H with an X for no good reason is probably AN ENGLISH MAJOR playing with your head.
Excellent work! No doubt your are correct. This really makes sense.
Thanks for you efforts.
Did he say layers and layers of authenticity?
The stamp used says "TRUE COPY OR ABSTRACT". Its one or the other, not both. The Certification of Live Birth, the document we saw 2 years ago, is an abstract of the original record, i.e. it is a summary using the database version of the record. A Certificate of Live Birth, the document we got Wednesday, is a true copy of the original. One stamp, used on both.

Agreed. But what if she decided to go to Canada to have the baby at an unwed mother facility and before she left she found through her grandmother a doctor who would fill out the filing form and let her sign it, but not date it then, being unsure if she would keep the baby. (remember the number is assigned at a central location, not at the Doctor's office or hospital) After the baby was delivered she could call grandma and have her contact the Dr. friend and proceed with the document. If she had decided to adopt out the child, it might have been easier with a U.S. citizenship. No transportation problem, no time delay. She could easily be at Seattle for college then.
Then she takes the baby to stay with grandma.
Mr. K : “that is THE ONE AND ONLY PURPOSE of OCR software”
Actually you are not quite correct. OCR is only recognition of text and does not mean that the image itself will be modified. The idea (as has been explained in earlier posts on this same thread) is to provide searchable document even though the image is a bitmap or JPG image. This allow documents to be searched even if they were not originally stored in text format. The boxes that are created in the PDF document are just side effects of the areas that are identified as legitimate text (at least as far as OCR is concerned). I work with generating PDF documents all the time and these fields can be made to be linked and many other cool effects.
Think quick flowing Chinese cursive ~ forget what latin letters you think those characters look like. I blew it up to 6 inches high and THEY ARE NOT LETTERS ~ or if they are they are very very sloppy.
