Compared to what, the grandeur of the Di and Charles wedding? I much prefer Princess Kate’s style, and William and she actually look happy. I don’t remember Di and Charles looking at all happy on their wedding day.

I do not think Kate could have been more beautiful. She was glowing! If it was low key, then more power to her! Low key definitely worked for her. I prefer low key. She is a Princess. She is beautiful. She does need anything gaudy.

I like low key too. Only naturally beautiful people can pull off low key in formal occasions. The emphasis goes to their natural beauty, not the accompaniments. If they don’t have natural beauty, then they have to hide behind everything else that they buy from others.

They really are a different breed from the Windsors, and that’s surely thanks to Diana’s wonderful influence. God bless her, and God love William for have her compassionate heart .. may he have a long life and happy marriage to his beautiful, normal Princess.

Prince William and Kate Middleton honour war heroes with wedding invitations

###

Prince William and Kate Middleton are paying a heartfelt tribute to Britain’s war heroes by giving veterans and bereaved families pride of place at their wedding.

The Royal couple have sent coveted invitations to the Westminster Abbey ceremony to servicemen including L Cpl Martyn Compton, a friend of the prince who served alongside him in the Household Cavalry at Windsor.

Martyn, 27, was so badly burned in a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan in 2006 that he “died” three times and lost his ears and nose. He was in a coma for three months.
Now Kate and William have invited Martyn – who Wills knows by his nickname Compo – to share their big day, alongside 1,900 celebrities, sportsmen, fellow royals and overseas dignitaries.

There is also an invitation for Holly Dyer, 30, the sister of 2nd Lt Joanna Dyer who was killed by a bomb in Iraq in 2007.

Joanna was a close friend of William, 28, at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, Berkshire. The Prince was “absolutely devastated” by his friend’s death.

Susie Roberts, widow of William’s platoon commander at Sandhurst Major Alexis Roberts, will also be there. Father-of-two Maj Roberts, known as Lex, was killed in a bomb attack in Afghanistan in 2007. A friend and mentor to William during his training, the prince remembers him with “great fondness and respect”.

Susie’s mother Carol Deans told the Sunday Mirror: “Susie feels so proud to be going to the wedding. She knows that Lex would be very proud too as he had a real bond with William.”

William, who attended Major Roberts’ funeral, has stayed in touch with Susie. Carol said: “Susie has been close to William over the past few years and that has been reflected in her invite.”

This is a good man.

Search for the Charles/Diana wedding kiss on youtube, there is a 5 minute recap of the whole wedding done by CBS. No, they did not look happy at all. Their kiss barely qualified as one. Looking at it through hindsight 20/20, you can see that they were both unhappy.

Your post simply indicates how little you know of attire for a bride. I’ve seen “Poor” brides with more elegant hair than Kate wore....and I wasn’t refereing to if or not the two were happy or not. After 5 years of shacking up you’d assume they’d found some degree of contentment with one another.

Further any comparisons between Diana and Kates wedding is fruitless...Diana was 19 yrs. old....Kate’s almost 30.....Big difference in every way. Besides Kate has been practicing for 5 yrs to take her role...Diana had none but was under the tutor and control of the “mums” still.

Again my reference was to Kates frompy veil and hair....could have been far better and certainly more regal than it was....and it should have been. Flat against the skull as her’s was was not appropriate. Even a slight veil lift would have been helpful.
