They remind me of the evil stepsisters from cinderella! Holey-Moley!
US drivers enter the car on the left because the horses expect it.
True story.
I have 2 nieces who recently got married, and both of them had strapless gowns. One of them is tiny, and she could pull it off. The other one is not so tiny. She has very broad shoulders, and she’s a redhead with lots of freckles. I think she would have been much better off without the whole strapless look. I never realized how big her shoulders were until she wore her wedding dress. In fact, I never really thought she was overweight, until I saw her in the wedding dress.
I think even my petite niece would have looked better in a gown with sleeves.
Now, I am glad the poufy sleeves are gone from wedding dresses, but I don’t like the whole strapless look either.
I really hope there is a new trend for pretty dresses with sleeves.
Lady Nell Penny of Reddington
(grandparents and their son, my father, were born in Scotland.
I can relate)!
No, have not seen the game.
Granddaughters will love playing it!
The wedding was great!
Why so gross? Really...
” King Zero of KENYA!! ;-)”
Hopefully he will be deposed in Nov.2012! In the meantime, the British are our allies, the way things are going though, the next royal wedding may involve the marriage of a sultan:(
Oh that’s perfect! Had he made it down there already? If not did he spend any more time with the victims of the tornadoes?
If not it will absolutely prove my theory.
He is a shallow self centered S.O.B. who thinks of nothing but himself.
Hi dita.. yes, I agree.. the gown, veil, makeup, hair, jewelry was all very classy & beautiful. So many bride pix I see the gals looks like street walkers !
I heard the TV announcer say that Will said to her(they had a professional lip syncher) You look lovelyor beautiful - cant recall which..
Just a quick note for when your turn comes to walk down the aisle:
Jasmine Bridals sells what they call “temple ready” gowns, but they are in no way as frumpy as what I would normally refer to as “temple ready.”
If you go to their website, click on the “Temple Ready” link, and it directs you to choose a gown from their collection. Then you can change the gown’s neckline and sleeves, and they will sew your gown the way you’d like it to be.
Two downsides: 1) The website only allows you to see a sketch of the dress you have altered. I do not know if they can send you an actual picture.
2) I bet this costs a BUNDLE, over and above the cost of the dress.
Nevertheless, at least Jasmine Bridals makes an attempt to cater to their more modest clientele. Most designers do not.
Regards,
PS: I do think Kate’s dress will change wedding fashions for awhile, so...you MIGHT want to take a look at what’s available now & make your purchase even if you’re not engaged. That’s what I’d do if it was me...’cause as we all know, fashion is extremely fickle. Good luck!
Liz, thanks for the info on the flowers.. I had heard one of them was Sweet Williams & thought that was just a jester toward HER SWEET WILLIAM!
she seems like such a thoughtful, caring woman. I think Will picked a gal that will truly be a royal jewel for the British monarchy
Thank you also for all the great additions to this thread (and so many others here at FR)
True... That is a great reason to celebrate — the windsor-Montbattens didn’t invite ZERO. (Of course, if I was holding an IMPORTANT event, I would NOT invite them either!!)
appreciate your additions to this thread too... been gone this afternoon but will catch up on thread & all the links /pix/info that people have shared.
It was a beautiful wedding. One of the commentators said it was two weddings. Kate and Will's and the marriage or the monarchy to the common man.
Will is apparently quite close to her parents already.
Holy cow.. she looks coarse, harsh.
Dont know anything about her however & I guess we shouldn’t judge a book by cover? There are a lot of gorgeous woman who most of us would NOT want to see with Harry
True...But it seems that WE go GAGA over anything that's going on with the Royals.
We here in the US are forced to watch our important history being dismantled by ignorant progressives
SO VERY TRUE!!!
Yes they are, but is it news?? Tonight ET, Holleywood insider will talk about it...then the prime time shows will talk about it...
I guess after hearing about weddings this week it got tiresome!!
Kate & Will Congrats -- (on not inviting ZERO -- and your wedding!!)
You are soooo caught up in this fantasy, dress up charade.
We are judging the CHARADE of a white dress, a huge church wedding that makes a mockery of the sanctity of marriage of two people who violated the sanctity of waiting till you are married to shack up.
Shacking up for 8 years in public , flaunting that and essentially saying..”Hey, the whole no sex before marriage, sex within marriage, the virtues of chastity and fidelity..hey, no big deal. It doesn’t really mean anything! Just screw around with whoever, live with whoever. then have a big fancy TV media wedding and its all ok”
THAT is what we are judging.
and the whole charade that the church of England, the monarchy plays right along with this!
Hey, if they are in love, great. If they want to get married in the church, great. But to act like free-love, free sex, screw whoever for eight years in public and THEN make a big deal out of it...I’m not buying that.
He resembles the youthful photos of his grandfather Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Charles' father).
