The Texas libertarian is widely seen as a longshot candidate for the GOP's 2012 presidential nomination. So why is he preparing for another White House campaign?....

I also imagine that most here tend to be in strong agreement with JimRob's view of the paleosurrenderman.
I posted this article to see if there would be any rational discourse on it, instead all I have gotten back was a bunch of hyperbola, hysterical ravings, stupid pictures and name-calling.
If this is really "Conservatism", God help us all. Because we don't need any outside destroyers, we're doing a good job destroying ourselves.
"Yeah, I appreciate your support. Hey, have you ever tried Percodan?"
5. More bookings on the Alex Jones Show.
4. More opportunities to sell “The Truth is Out There” t-shirts and bumper stickers.
3. Enjoys the fun of watching beltway establishment Republicans break out in a cold sweat.
2. Great PR for the upcoming Paul-Kucinich Nationwide Standup Tour in 2013.
...and the #1 reason Ron Paul is running for President again...
1. The Groupies, Man.....the Groupies!
I would bet on reasons 1 through 4, as I do no think that he will actually be elected.
Our military is out of control, which is why Paul votes the way he does. 70% of the EARTHS military spending is done by the U.S., which makes zero sense. We need a military big enough to protect our shores, and not much over that. We can no longer afford to be the world police.
As for the gay thing, I’m not a big fan of that segment of our population, but there’s not a lot in the Constitution about them, which could be why he feels the way he does. I don’t know why he votes the way he does on this issue.
As for the turbanheads, I agree with him. Let them do what they do, over there, it’s none of our business. We have already proven we are inept at stopping them. Other countries don’t do squat about them, but they whine for us to help them (since we have an unlimited supply of soldiers and money).
Racists follow Paul? Racists follow Obama, and Palin, and everyone else too. Paul’s overwhelming theme, always, is to follow the Constitution. I find little wrong with that. If we had been doing that over the past 100 years or so, we wouldn’t be broke and our taxes would be about half of what they are now.
1. Feel a decent sense of shame in recognition that your Congressman is garbage and worthless garbage at that;
2. Stop lying about or misperceiving his actually conservative critics;
3. Do something to elect a conventionally patriotic and actually conservative Congressman with functioning brain cells to replace the paleowimp idiot;
4. If you are looking for stupidity, try looking at those like paleoPaulie who confuse patriotism with cowardice and "letters of marque and reprisal" (and maybe blunderbusses for M-16s) with an actual and regularly used military second to none; those who imagine that, given the persistent mass murdering violation of the Constitution by SCOTUS, somehow marriage and the right to life and civilization generally will be advanced by invoking the 10th Amendment to make Congress even more totally subservient to the baby-killing and marriage destroying black-robes of SCOTUS; those who confuse earmark kings like paleoPaulie with actual fiscal conservatives; and those who want to buy the world a Coke instead of memorably punishing our nation's enemies whenever the opportunity arises.
5. Retire the crazy old coot and get a real Congressman. Galveston owes a lot more to America than the surrenderman. Then drop paleoPaulie in a straightjacket into Teheran with or without a parachute and let his pal and love object Ahmadinejad take care of him from now on. Remember Baghdad Bob? When the time comes, they can strap PaleoPaulie to a telephone pole and he can serve as Teheran Paulie. If you want bipartisanship, send Dennis Cuckoocinich or Jim Code Pink McDermott to be his Demonratic mirrors.
And yet, you conduct "rational discourse" by making false accusations at anyone who doesn't support Ron Paul.
You suggested earlier that since I don't like Ron Paul, I am for the establishment status-quo and will vote for anyone as long as they have an "R" by their name.
And yet, I have never, ever said anything like that on this forum.
You are also slinging insults at others who don't like Ron Paul.
When you do things like that, nobody will take you seriously.
Therefore, don't be surprised when we're having a little fun at your expense.
By the way, the owner of this site is not exactly a Ron Paul fan, either.
ROFL!
This is going to make most of the Paultards go nuclear, because I've noticed most of them tend to be somewhat humorless.
They provide great entertainment in spite of their lack of ability to laugh at themselves.
LOL, forgot about Nader.
It is no more possible to "rationally" discuss any hallucinated desirability of the paleosurrenderman as POTUS than it would be to discuss naming Charles Manson as law-abiding citizen of the year, Typhoid Mary as poster girl for public health or Jack the Ripper as feminist of the year (even though he shared an enthusiasm for bloodshed with most feminists but having different targets whom he would shred).
Conservatism is not some 18th Century museum exhibit. It is not the substitution of letters of marque and reprisal for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. It is not autosmooching our enemies' butts. It is blowing them off the face of this earth efficiently, promptly and without giving any credence or attention whatsoever to critics whether paleoPaulie or Code Pink. When we learn to do that promptly and without restraint, our wars will cost a lot less. It is not tolerating shameful degradations of our military by encouraging gross perversion in the ranks and the barracks. Check out what happened in Moscow when a Romanov prince who headed the Moscow garrison introduced homosexuality and same sex orgies to that garrison. When someone had chucked a bomb into his touring car, there was not enough of the prince's corpse left to make burial meaningful.
If anyone imagines that paleoPaulie is any sort of conservative, such an anyone is delusional. I feel quite confident that those of us who have devoted many decades to actual conservatism from the days of the New Right forward, who fought Nixon and Gerald Ford on the one hand and SDS and Jimmy Peanut on the other, who elected Ronaldus Maximus after a 16 year effort, who supported the Vietnam War. who resisted Herod Blackmun and the baby-killer Supremes, who have formed the core of this movement for many decades are not going to make way for a bunch of peace creeps and McGovernites and designer libertoonians posing as "conservatives" to make believe that they are the future of conservatism.
What actual conservatives are doing is destroying the pretense that the likes of paleoPaulie have anything whatsoever to do with actual conservatism now or ever.
I disagree. A vote for Ron Paul’s presidency would bring this country back to the great country it once was.
All of the rational discourse occurred in 2008. The Paulinistas wouldn't accept rational discourse then. The actual primary results spoke for themselves. The fact that L Ron (and his rondamentalists) will put us through this again in 2012 is a joke and a circus.
Therefore, if you post wRONgPAUL threads this time around, the only thing you should expect is a bunch of hyperbola, hysterical ravings, stupid pictures and name-calling. FReeregards.
LOL! An instant FR classic! May I steal this one too?
It’s yours! It’s too big, though.
