Abraham Lincoln cant be blamed for the Civil War because the southern states had already succeeded before he had been inagurated.
LOL! Isn't that EXACTLY why he can be blamed?
SC seceded upon his election, but before inauguration, meaning under Buchanan. Buchanan said he didn't like the secession and questioned its legality, but he was certain that going to war over it was illegal and therefore wouldn't do it.
So secession didn't start a war under Buchanan. Lincoln "inherited" it and decided to wage war to reverse it. I think it's safe to rest the blame on him.

agreed and go back to the 1830’s where SC was on the verge to leave back then as well but was persuaded to stay.
Up comes Lincoln and not so much forced the south to fire the first shot but did know that it would come to that with his actions.
Funny how history repeats, back then they thought it would be a short war and still today Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan was supposed to be shorter that they are.

(Shame on all who voted for the repeal of DADT, who supported it or never tried to stop it. Traitors)
