Poll: 45% of Republicans say Obama born abroad

A New York Times poll found that 45 percent of Republicans and 25 percent of all adults surveyed believe that President Barack Obama was born abroad. It’s question No. 72 on (Page 8 ) of the poll results.

That’s an increase over a year ago, when 20 percent of adults surveyed thought Obama was not U.S. born.

Amazing, and hopeful, to see at least three anywhere who understand the real issue. To add to it, Obama defined his citizenship thus: “I am a native-born citizen of the U.S.” That is the definition from Title 8, USC, for a naturalized citizen. A search of the INS Code for natural born or natural-born turns up only the Constitution. He told us the truth, and every Senator surely knew, since they all signed Sen Res 511, Apr 2008, clearly stating that to be a natural born citizen requires parents who are citizens.

Smart people simply don't know the law. It is an obscure part of our Constitution. Saturday, Victor Davis Hanson sadly showed his ignorance, equating jus soli - born on our soil - citizenship with natural born citizenship. We need to help others understand. The law takes a bit of reading, but it is clear and unequivocal. Perhaps the clearest, though not the most concise, in Chief Justice Morrison Waite in Minor v. Happersett:

“The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.”

YES, Obummer is the poster child for the need for Natural Born Citizenship. Our founding fathers were indeed divinely inspired.

Yes it is human nature and no it wasn’t all the fault of the judiciary and didn’t even start with them. It didn’t start with this issue either. But that cowardice only gives the temporary safety Ben Franklin spoke of. Ultimately it leads to ever greater erosion of the rule of law. The consequences of actions are inevitable.

This is big trouble for him. If it goes to five dollars ... six dollars, what’s he gonna do? Come back out and say there’s no easy answer? Get lost loser.

It appalls me that so many elected officials and highly respected pundits are so ignorant of the basic principles involved here however obscure they are in practical expression of the law. It is still a fundamental founding principle and the documents are not that voluminous or hard to understand. People are too easily mislead by sophistry and prone to be convinced of moral guilt by rationalizations that lack true cause.

Understanding the truth rarely requires mental gymnastics and the truth itself has no respect for the pain or pleasure it may cause any particular person or persons in general. The truth is what it is just as a log in the road is what it is and has no regard for whether one man wrecks his car on it or another picks it up and uses it for firewood.

(Dec. 3, 2009) — The stunning admission was made to a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, in a chance meeting in the vicinity of Kalakaua Blvd., one evening in early August of 1980.

The now, former Marine is a highly respected member of the Free-Republic online-community, and he has published the account of his personal meeting with the then Barry Soetero online at the Gathering of the Eagles Blog. After the divorce of Barry’s mother from his adopted father, Lolo Soetero, he began using the name “Barack Hussein Obama,” by which he is known the world over, today. At the Free Republic, the ex-Marine goes by the nik “Race Bannon.”

Only 58 million and growing.

Barry is doing as much damage as he can (spending like mad) in case he doesn’t get a second chance.

BTW, did you all hear about the Alaskan Policeman who was just arrested for Passport fraud where he stole someones identity 20 years ago? Wouldn’t it be great to hear about Barry’s arrest on the same issue?

Was Obama’s mother in Kenya for 10 years?

There's no real evidence that Obama's mother ever set foot in Kenya in her entire life.

In reading the comments to the article in the OCR, I am thinking the following may have occured. Stanley Ann was impregnated by a non-white man, but she did not know which one. She got Obama Sr to marry her, but when the kid was dropped in Kenya, he looked more indonesian than African.

Realizing her mistake, Stanley Ann got Soetoro to marry her and moved to Indonesia. If you look at pix of Barry and his "half-sister" by Soetoro, it is altogether possible that Soetoro is his true biological father. Paternity tests (DNA)did not exist at that time.
