So, ask me again why I'm registered "Non-partisan" in CA.
I did a little research recently. Nine states have more unaffiliated voters than registered RATs or OP(aka GOP). Three more saw a greater increase of unaffiliated voters than RATs or OP from 2008-2010. Where I live unaffiliated voters out number OP voters by more than a 2:1 margin and RAT voters by nearly 100,000.

Now THERE'S a set of statistical data that neither party wants to acknowledge.

I would be VERY interested to see where those unaffiliated registrants distribute ideologically. The media would have us believe that all of these unaffiliated voters are in the middle, between the two parties, and are part of that pool of "independents" who are "up for grabs" every election.

This just is NOT true.

For my part, I didn't re-register as non-partisan because the GOP was too conservative, but because they aren't conservative enough, and I seriously doubt that I'm alone.

The research has to be done; the numbers have to come out, and the GOP needs to look in the mirror and have a come to Jesus meeting. Dollars to donuts; they're losing their largest numbers to the more Conservative RIGHT, not to the more moderate Left.
