The Republican-controlled Oklahoma Senate dealt organized labor another defeat on Tuesday when it voted to repeal a collective bargaining law.
The 29-19 vote means that some of the state's fastest-growing cities no longer will be required to collectively bargain with sanitation workers and other non-uniformed workers.
The measure already passed the Oklahoma House and now goes to Governor Mary Fallin, a Republican, who is expected to sign it into law.

After 8 years of democrat Brad Henry as governornor, all I can say is “Its about damned time”!! Henry and the dems set this state back 30 years. We have Republican legislature (both houses) and a Republican Governor now. Things are gonna change fast and the dems are squealing like a pig under a gate!....red
Good news. Thanks for posting.
I think the real key is to end the mandatory union dues deduction.
They need to end police and fire collective bargaining too.
We need to keep this up and spread the union money too thin.
need to see how my reps voted
Does that mean that a job isn't a right? /s
The cultural center of the universe ...
The article says that Oklahoma is a 'right to work' state...so, no one is forced to join the union (or pay union dues) unless they want to. The issue here is that the state, counties and municipalities do not have to negotiate with the unions.
And if they make deals that are too favorable for the unions, it is only their own money at stake.
An elected official can NOT be counted on to have the publics best interests at heart when negotiating with public employee unions (often ones that donated and supported their campaign if they are a Democrat).
And if they make deals that are too favorable for the unions, (as they are wont to do) it is OUR money at stake.
As Coolidge said about money in D.C. (paraphrase) “Of course they want to spend lots of money, there seems to be tons of it laying about and it doesn't seem to belong to anyone.”
This is most likely a steps toward that.
Excellent points.
Review Wisconsin. Good luck to the folks in OK. You’re in for one hell of a ride. Stay steady, stay safe, and fight! Never give up. I’m here in WI, experiencing it first hand. I hope your people stay true. Be vigilant!
If there is any saving of America it will be by the States.
Sweet! I sent Ms. Fallin some money early on in her campaign. Turned out she won handily, and probably didn’t need it. Glad to see her carrying through on conservative ideals.
Take note every State, you want to save your butts this is a must. Most Unions are communists controlled.
