Boxing with Beck
The Washington Times ^ | April 19, 2011 | Jennifer Harper

Posted on 04/19/2011 8:05:40 AM PDT by lakeprincess

“Why are some bloggers accusing Glenn of ‘taking content’ without attribution?” demands Scott Baker, editor-in-chief of TheBlaze.com - Mr. Beck’s news and opinion site - responding to charges that “dozens of conservative bloggers” complained that the Fox News host lifted their content for his daily cable show without proper credit. Many said they feel “robbed.”

Piles of stuff on Beck’s show comes from David Horowitz and Andrew Breitbart. I’m so conscious of this that I don’t know how often Beck specifically attributes—if he’s fallen down on the job, I guess he should explain and apologize, but I don’t quite understand Breitbart’s beef, given how much Beck has promoted the “Bigs.”

Brietbart has an interview floating on the net that mentions how Beck lifted his stories and did not give credit.

Beck has not supported Btietbart. There is a story on the net now in which Andrew begged Beck to come on his show when the Shirley Sharod story broke. BECK never let him on his show.

When it comes to ‘free enterprise’ and competition in our conservative news sources - we should expect and even welcome healthy rivalry and competition.

That used to be the ‘free press’ dynamic in the good old days. Reporters competing to get the story right and get it first.

Even on FR we are critical when Rush, Levin, Steyn, Sowell, Williams et.al have hiccups.

They are not GODS - they are messengers!!!!!

So the beef is about Sherrod?

Well, we all want that story to get out, the corruption surrounded the billions in boondoggle to corrupt "farmers."

Well, his beef is legit. But there's so much corruption out there, up to our ears, that it's hard to sort out what to go after, first.

What I happen to think is a rich place to strike at, right away, is where Pretty Baby's money is coming from for 2012. He had everybody in a hypnotic swoon in 2008, and I'll bet over half of his money that time around was crooked. Think the Saudis will give him millions? I don't think so. Soros, and his billionaire friends are better known to us. We need to post the faces and backgrounds of Geffen, Lewis and the Standler couple and use our citizen journalists to notice where they go and what they do.

But this time around, we're better able to start looking at where the new election funds are coming from, as they are donated.

So I agree that Beck and Bretit ought to have some agressive negotiations.

Actually, it would be cool if Breit and Beck could form a cable network! (I can't afford to watch tV on the net, my server charges me a fortune)>

Beck could be Jeremiah, Briet could be 60 Minutes.

MAMZELLE POSTED I think a rich place to strike now is where Pretty Baby's 2012 money is coming from. He had everybody in a hypnotic swoon in 2008, and I'll bet over half of his donations were crooked---purportedly from "anonymous foreign donors" who flooded his 2008 campaign with hundreds of thousands of relatively small, untraceable illegal donations.

Soros, and his billionaire friends are better known to us. We need to post the faces and backgrounds of Geffen, Lewis and the Standler couple, and use our citizen journalists to notice where they go and what they do. This time around, we're better able to start looking at where the new election funds are coming from, as they begin to trickle in.

Nice take, mamzelle. Another plus is that this time around Ohaha doesn't have Teddy Kennedy playing defense for him.

As for me, I think The Anointed One 's original plan was to loot the US Treasury with stim and TARP scams, and stash billions offshore, expecting to be reelected by acclamation. Then he could chortle about hundreds of millions of "donations" for the billion dollar candidate (as he bills himself).

That ain't gonna happen----Ohaha's gone downhill faster than Olympic medalist Lindsay Vonn.

His monumental stupidity has prompted voters to see Ohaha as Chauncey Gardiner without the homburg----an empty vessel who speaks in a total vacuum. Ohaha's actions make sense only to sap-happy progressives (think of airhead Shirley Maclaine in the movie).

Ohaha got ready for 2012 by ditching hated staff like Gibbs, Emanuel, Axelrod. Now I bet he wishes he hadn't done that.

There's a lot of agita in the WH as they try to figure out what to do next.

Isn’t most of ‘TheBlaze’ just regurgitated AP stories?
(haven’t read it in a few weeks - may have changed)

Given the current technology it would be nice for citizen journalists/shadow-citizens/patriots-with-time-on-their-hands/retirees/ to monitor (and hand off) the movements and words of many of these persons (especially collectivists in government) of interest 24/7/365.

There is no support from the conservative for the others that are questioned by the left.
I find it unchristian for those that were quick to get on the band wagon when they found Brietbarts story to help their cause but when there was a question they were not there.
We always kill our wounded. Shame on you Glenn./

Finally! I've been dying for someone to do some serious research into the stories Glenn Beck has been discussing.

I was just kind of hoping it was going to be about George Soros's ties to Obama, ACORN, Socialist non-profits, etc.

(sigh)

The actions of Ohaha and Gardiner are comparable, but I think Ohaha sometimes knows he is wrong. He also sometimes does the right thing for the wrong reasons. For example, the Bush tax cut extensions, which mitigate some of the damage he is doing, while giving him something to attack.

My guess is that the problem is the fact that the Sherrod thing ended in a law suit for Breitbart and that he might have been able to head it off if he had been able to go on air and explain the issue, instead of letting the MSM depict Sherrod as the victim.

Obviously, Beck could not have reported the story without crediting Breitbart, he couldn’t have reported any of the Breitbart stories without a mention of Breitbart. It would have been better if he had let Breitbart come on the air and speak for himself, though. On the other hand, maybe Beck’s show would not have helped Breitbart with the MSM.
