Newly-installed Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus has a message for Donald Trump and other so-called "birthers": Shut up!
Priebus, who's starting to score some fundraising and organizational victories inside GOP HQ, having taken over for controversial former Chairman Michael Steele, says the debate over President Obama's birthplace and whether he can be president is a huge distraction away from the party's effort to fight Democratic spending and tax plans.
In an interview, we asked if he, like Trump, is a birther. "I'm not," says Priebus. "I believe that the president was born in Hawaii." [Read 10 things you didn't know about Reince Priebus.]

"I think that the entire issue gets me off track to what I really need to focus on which is how to beat him [Obama]," says Priebus. "And the reason I need to beat him is not because I'm the chairman of the RNC, or because I view this as some partisan endeavor that I'm on. I'm truly concerned about the future direction of our country. I'm very concerned about America. I'm concerned about the idea of America," says Priebus. "Look," he adds of Obama. "He's driving our country off a fiscal cliff, that's what he's doing."

I said Joe Miller is almost 40. I linked to his LinkedIn page supporting that conclusion. The link you provided doesn’t speak to his age, or to Henig’s.
I asked what ‘plum Dem position’ it was that you claim Henig received. The link you provided says nothing about her post-FactCheck career.
So what’s your point? I’m still right about Miller not being a ‘kid,’ and you still haven’t backed up your claim that Henig got ‘rewarded.’ Do you not have any *real* evidence to support the statements you’re making?
Why does curiosity always ping you when he’s losing an argument? Are you two on the same page? Do you, like curiosity, think half the TEA partiers are “blithering idiots”? Do you think Bachman is a “blithering idiot”? Are you, like curiosity, trying to save us all from “stupid conservatives”?
Factcheck is funded by the Annenberg Foundation, for which both Obama and Ayers worked. I read on FR that these Dem operatives were rewarded for their work. I do not have the link, or the time to read every thread between now and when I first read that. What’s it to you? Are you defending the liberal leftist fackcheck.org? Are you going to bat for the Annenberg Foundation? Are you trying to help curiosity weed out “stupid conservatives”?
Read the whole thread from the link I gave. Factcheck said they took the COLB “on faith”. Do you take it on faith too? Do you believe everything Obama says? Curiosity has been pimping for Obama for months now. Do you pimp for him too?
DJ MacWoW, I pinged you because you’re the only FReeper I know who would have a definitive answer for this question. How much calling of TEA partiers “blithering idiots”, and how much calling Bachmann the same thing, and how much talking about “stupid conservatives” is a good thing, and how much is going too far? I’ve been exchanging with curiosity for a while now, and it seems like all I hear is how stupid and idiotic conservatives are. If you don’t mind offering an opinion on the subject, I would be most appreciative.
The bottom line is either Bam has a long form BC or he doesn't. All of this other stuff is smoke and mirrors. A cover to keep people focused elsewhere. Bam needs to produce a valid long form BC and legitimate, verifiable school records. We're STILL waiting for John Kerry's promised 180. ;-)

You just keep on calling TEA partiers, Bachmann and assorted other conservatives “blithering idiots”. I can name another truly obbnoxious troll who dodged zots for literally years. He too had a very high opinion of himself, and a contemptuous view of stupid “rightwingers”. Everyone was onto him, but as is typical with liberals, he was clueless. Imagine his shock when out of the blue one fine day the zot blew him sky high.

I support many of the TEA party candidates/elected officials, but I don't support every single one. Some of them are not particularly adept candidates and politicians, and as such, have harmed the conservative cause.
I call 'em like I see them, whether you like it or not. Part of being conservative means standing up for the truth.

There is NO valid reason to hide Obamas long form when he holds the highest office there is in one of the most powerful countries in the world.

Trolling is the act of purposefully antagonizing other people on the internet, generally on message boards. When done in a moderated internet community, this can result in banning. When done to uptight people such as fundies, this can result in hilarity.
I hear you. There’s so much to be said for ignoring trolls, it really is a good option. The only downsides are (1) the trolls are going to harass somebody, regardless; it’s why they’re here, and (2) when left unchallenged, they spread their garbage with greater frequency and boldness. People who don’t know better read their propaganda, and run the risk of believing it.
But yes, ignoring the trolls is probably the best option. They shouldn’t be encouraged to eat FR bandwidth with total and complete abandon, that’s for sure.
Yes there are some that can be goaded into a response. I am too at times. But when ignored they are more likely to “cross the line” in order to illicit a response and THAT will get them a ride on the Bosses bug zapper. :-)

No. Some conservatives are hayseed rubes (e.g., Mike Huckabee & Michelle Bachmann), and others are very impressive and smart (e.g., Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Nikki Haley, etc.).
The conservative movement, like all political movements, has people of varying intelligence levels within it.
