Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is expected to announce his decision regarding the 2012 Republican presidential nomination in the coming weeks.

Allen County Republican Party Chairman Steve Shine says, “The Indiana Legislature will be adjourning at the end of this month and that is the Governor’s timetable to make his decision on whether or not to run for President.”

The Republican county chairman also noted that he expects Mr. Daniels will enter the 2012 Republican presidential race.

Do words mean anything to you?

Sure. And when you start using them like a responsible adult, we can talk.

You're just slobbering on your shirt right now.

I will check him out as I don’t know much about him. Therefore I will hold my fire and ignore the usual he-is-just-another-RINO crap until I have more specifics.

Daniels pulled the rug out from under Scott Walker at a critical moment in February - it was a vicious thing to do to a new GOP governor struggling with a huge deficit driven by greedy unions.

That was enough for me.

Beyond which, Daniels is too short and Obama will tower over him in a debate - just like Bush 41 over Dukakis.

Daniels is a loser if nominated. Absolutely NO

Thanks for sharing that, fwdude.
Milquetoastman #2 is more than just a RINO-oinker. He thinks the economy reigns Uber Alles. And so the people are expected to keep our mouths closed and our hands idle when it comes to the right to life, the rights to liberty, rights to property and anything else we care deeply about.
We’re supposed to sacrifice ourselves on the altar of the frigging economy, like good little wage slaves.
And if we don’t keep quiet about “so-called social issues”, then it’s off to the re-education camps we go or worse.
Mitch Daniels ought to renounce his U.S. citizenship and move to Sweden, where nobody gives a sh!t about anything.

It’s sad how many non-leftist are focusing on the RINOS only and not, also, focusing on the establishment Republicans and on the elitist Republicans.

Out of 69 posts, how many reference Daniel’s short stature? Now, is that a conservative issue? Sounds more like a soccer mom issue from their fawning over Clinton years. Whats wrong with you?

“He is going to balance the budget (on a one year basis) by converting the interstate highways to toll roads and then selling that to a foreign company.”

I thought that I was the only one who figured it out. Actually, we could run our government for another 3 or so years, without a deficit, but doing just that.

...of course that means an extra 20 cents to one dollar per mile for the rest of our existence...and no way in hell to pay our debt after that 3 year holiday.

Yea...he’s my man. LOL.

“Listening to obama, right now........this country could do a damn sight worse than Mitch!”

YUPPERS.

Good on fiscal issues, smart. Not catering to the so-cons as much.

Of the Governors, I think I’d prefer them in this order ...
Barbour,
Pawlenty,
Daniels,
Romney,
Huckabee.
Palin is in another dimension, would have more love/hate than the calm and less-exciting Pawlenty or Daniels.

Here is a video of Pawlenty ... seems to be well-poised:
http://hotair.com/archives/2011/04/13/boo-hoo-house-gop-leadership-angry-with-pawlenty-for-denouncing-increasingly-terrible-budget-deal/

If Palin does run, though, and all of the above are in, we dont have a bad field. 6 ex- or current Governors.
Throw Bachmann in and you’ve got an interesting field.
Throw Trump in and you’ve got a high-profile celeb-included primary race!

I do hope Palin runs, but I doubt she will with bachmann in there.

What these so-called "moderates" (as if that moniker is supposed to somehow impress everyone) don't seem to realize is that the Left will NEVER acquiesce to a "truce" on social issues, which really can't be separated from "fiscal" issues at all - conservatism is an indivisible whole. While we're ignoring the foundations of American culture and life, the Left will be tearing it down at an even more breathless speed. They'll just laugh that we weren't paying attention when it's too late for us to do anything about it.

And then the left will have their "fiscal" way with the country as well when we are too weak morally to do anything about it.

“by converting the interstate highways to toll roads and then selling that to a foreign company.”

Wow... What ignorance.
He LEASED (with a HUGE upfront payment) an ALREADY-toll road to a foreign conglomerate that has spent tons of money repairing and remodernizing it, at their own expense, and we get it back if they miss the HUGE payments.

An asset that COST the taxpayers millions of dollars a year in losses is now a revenue generating asset.

In other words, he’s done EXACTLY what a true conservative would want him to do.

“we use the libs and dems very tactics amongst ourselves against candidates we don’t like.”

If you went by posting volumes in the 2008 cycle, Ron Paul was a god the entire nation adored, and Duncan Hunter was a shoe-in for pres.

I love this site, and the people on it, but sometimes.....

“He comes across as a competent, intelligent grown-up, which I think many Americans will be looking for in 2012.”

I like Mitch. I worked to get him elected Gov. He’s competent, fiscally conservative, smart, a former CEO, and worked in the REAGAN White House.

That said, it still remains to be seen if he’s got the kind of cajones required to stand up a gainst the media hate campaign that is surely coming, and be able to strike back, HARD.

Another McCain-style campaign we DO NOT NEED. There is too much at stake now.

Palin Daniels would be a powerful ticket.

Cajones, and the brains behind them to get the job done.

If he really wants Barry out of the White House, he will work with his legislature to pass, and then sign, a bill setting ballot eligibility criteria for Presidential candidates.
