You know, I recently had to present my birth certificate to the License Bureau to receive my driver’s license. I took along the one that looks like the first (which is the one the hospital sent home with me after birth and my father kept lo these many years). They wouldn’t accept it because the embossed seal was worn down from years (no comments from the Peanut Gallery, thank you) in the file folder.
I had to go and pay $15 for one that looks like the second birth certificate and they accepted that. How bizarre. I could take them the hospital birth certificate, my baptism records, my confirmation records — you name it, I got it, but no...o...o. They wanted the one like Obama’s. Go figure.
The most telling thing in the Certificate of Live Birth that in 1961 the race of black people were classified as “Negro” on official documents. NOT “African.”
1. In another message thread here, you showed the Hawaii long form birth certificate of a friend's child where the father's race was listed as "black."
2. Try this: Ask your black friend to order a Hawaii short form birth certificate of his child.
3. My point is this: I want to compare your friend's short form birth certificate to Obama's Hawaii short form that we see at several websites on the internet.
4. Specifically, Obama's father is listed as "African," and so I want to see what the race of your friend's husband will be listed as. I would think that the short form birth certificate would list him as "black" like he is listed on the long from birth certificate.
5. However, if your friend's husband is listed as "black", then it adds more mystery as to why Obama's father is listed as "African" on Obama's short form birth certificate that he sent for in 2007, the year stamped on the back of Obama's short form birth certificate.
6. Miki Booth, thanks for your help.
