Spiro Agnew's Father was a Non-Citizen
U.S. Census 1920 ^ | 1920 | U.S. Bureau of the Census

Posted on 04/12/2011 11:27:59 AM PDT by Captain Kirk

See line 72-75 and scroll over to the box that asks about citizenship. Theodore Agnew, Spiro's father, indicates in the box that he is an "al" (for alien). Young Spiro is shown on line 75. We now have two precedents against the birthers. The other is Chester Arthur. Both had non-citizen fathers and NOBODY in either case cared at the time. The controversy over Arthur was solely related to his alleged foreign birth.

Nobody cared at the time because they were nominees to the vice-presidency. Though the same qualifications apply, it’s not really looked into.

You are correct, but the US Constittuiton does require that Vice-Presidents be eligible for the office of President.

I wish some of these allegd consitutional literalists cared about such true constitutional violations such as attacks on habeas corpus (as in the case of Jose Padilla) or the failure of any Congress since 1941 to declare war.

I don’t care. He was one of my favorite VPs. He got it right when he spoke of those nattering nabobs of negativity in the MSM.

Cheney though is my top favorite VP.

All this assumes that immigration law was the same as in 1961 when these men were born.

Clearly, there is no reason for the Obamanista’s to hide the original BC then.

Are you saying that President Agnew was an usurpter?

Also, Barry Goldwater was born in the Territory of AZ before it was a State.

Wow, they are getting desperate.

I heard that someone once got away with murder. I guess the prohibition against murder is now gone?

Then I suppose this means that every vice president who became president should be declared illegal. I think we have crossed over into fantasy land. Agnew had plenty of enemies and they had countless reasons to "look into his elibility" to be within a heart-beat of the oval office.

Actually it appears that he was naturalized prior to Spiro’s birth.

There is actually another fly in the ointment as well: Charles Curtis, Vice-President under Hoover, was not born in the United States. He was born in Kansas one year before it became a State.

Neither Chester nor Spiro were usurping lieing Muslims intent on destroying America's identity and giving what's left to a 1200 year old creep in a well.
