Very, very stupid idea of Trump’s part.
Nevertheless, let’s not forget that there are a lot of people here on FR who have said that Sa-Rah should do the exact same thing if she doesn’t win it...
Exactly right.

What if both Trump and Sarah run as “Independents” How does a four way race turn out?
Trump (I)
Palin (I)
Obama (D)
Romney or some other RINO anointee (R)
I don't think Trump even wants to be President. By his actions, it appears he's working to pull as many GOP votes his way, go indie, then hand the election to 0bama.
Trump serves three masters:
1. Himself
2. His ego
3. An unbridled lust for money
Following the fall guy GOP!
They refuse to lead! They are happy being the minority punching bag, because they still retain RULING CLASS STATUS.
Do you think they want to compromise their "good thing"? They aint gonna change. They represent themselves.
Eff the GOP, they can follow the TEA, or outright and openly join the DNC!
I don’t blame Trump, I blame the STUPID FR on here that actually support Trump. Trump is a Liberal in from history and in deed. He suddenly pretend to be conservatives and all the dummies on here believe him

I wanted to be sure I understood your post...you believe the two are equivalent in some substantial way?
Probably more clever than stupid — see post 130.

.
Sarah will win it, and that is exactly why this fool is doing this.
Actually, it's very smart -- given what his true objective likely is.
Trump has a history of supporting the Clintons. He specifically supported Hillary in the 2008 Democrat primaries.
He has never been remotely conservative...until lately.
Initially, it seemed plausible that his pursuing the Obama BC issue might be designed to damage Obama -- not for the benefit of the GOP (or the country) -- but to clear the Democrat field for Hillary in 2012. Moreover, doing so as a "Republican" wouldn't reflect adversely on Hillary among the Democrat base.
With this announced threat of an independent run, it becomes obvious that Trump is playing a double game. Reprising the Perot candidacy repeats the conditions that created the Clinton presidency. His actions are designed to assure that Hillary not only wins nomination, but would win the election.
Trump is the fox in the Republican hen house.
