13-year-old ‘seduced’ pedophile, rules UK judge
LifeSiteNews ^ | 4/8/11 | Rebecca Millette

Posted on 04/11/2011 3:53:37 PM PDT by wagglebee

UNITED KINGDOM, April 8, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An English judge has ruled that a 24-year-old male pedophile was “seduced” by a 13-year-old girl after the man watched the teen perform intimate acts over a webcam.

Twenty-four-year-old David Barnes of Darlington, Co Durham was arrested in 2009 when police began investigating communication the 13-year-old was having with older males on the internet. Police found over 600 downloaded photos and videos of child pornography in Barnes’ possession and later charged him with 17 counts of making indecent images and forcing a child into sexual activity.

Despite the evidence and Barnes’ probation officer having advised the judge of the pedophile’s “high risk” of sexual harm to children, Judge Peter Fox let Barnes go with a suspended sentence.

“Many people must be puzzled to say the very least at the leniency of the guideline sentencing,” said Fox. “If I sent you to prison it would be for a matter of a few weeks only, hence, as I say, the puzzlement that many people would have about that.”

“The few weeks you would spend in prison would do nothing to stop you doing this again. My concern is for the future - the protection of other children,” said the judge, who argued that the sex offender treatment program Barnes would be required to go through would be better than a prison sentence.

Judge Fox said he accepted the man’s claim that in the “perverted activities over the internet with the 13-year-old” the minor “appears to have seduced you.”

About the child pornography found on Barnes’ computer, the judge said it was “the worst kind of abuse of very small children for the perverted lust of people like you.” He added: “How you could be attracted to that kind of material beggars belief.”

Fox’s ruling has sparked huge fury among critics who say Barnes should have been given a much sterner punishment.

“Thirteen-year-olds have to be protected. It goes without saying, they are children,” said Neil Atkinson, spokesman for the National Victims’ Association. “Intellectually, ethically and legally, this girl - or anyone of that age - could not possibly have been on the same level as a man in his 20s.”

“No 13-year-old can be realistically accused of seducing a man of this age. We find it incomprehensible that a judge could say so,” Atkinson added. “It is abhorrent that anyone in their 20s should, in effect, go unpunished for something that could have led to a far more serious offence.”

Judge Fox has reportedly been known for giving light sentences to sex offenders in the past. In 2001, a 23-year-old man who assaulted three teenage girls was given a suspended sentence by Fox, who called the girls “silly.” In 2009, he gave another suspended sentence to a 21-year-old man accused of sexual relations with two girls, age 13 and 15. A 40-year-old woman accused of sexual relations with a 14-year-old boy also got off easy, with Fox reportedly saying the boy seduced the woman. An appeals court later overturned his ruling and gave the woman a one year sentence.

I told my son when he was young, when ANY child is touched inappropriately by ANY adult, it is ALWAYS the adult’s fault. Period.

Sharia? With a name like Peter Fox? In addition to that he gave a female sex offender a light sentence. That alone should have told you that it was no part of Sharia.

It makes you wonder why.

Not really. There's only one reason that I can think of why the judge would go light on him.....

Coming to a US court near you. I'm really surprised that there hasn't been a move by the far left to recognize Pedophilia as a “sexual orientation” which would become a government protected class right next to homosexuals and transsexuals.

I don't doubt they're working on it.

You can't make steps like that all at once. Too much backlash.

You have to erode the moral foundation a chip at a time. A little here, a little there and before you know it viola', Sodom and Gomorrah.

“This is beyond disgusting.”

Agree. This is what I would post if I were on a UK site - to try to knock some sense into their heads: “Finally we start teaching these little Lolitas a lesson. Some of us are sick of how they can strut around, seduce men twice their age, and then claim they were assaulted. The nerve of these little girls. Thank goodness we have a PROGRESSIVE judge who understands that little girls need to learn how to behave and a supports the idea that adult men can help teach them important lessons in life.”

Again - the above is TOTALLY SARCASTIC - meant to show just how degenerate things have become over there. It’s very hard to get through to people by being direct...it’s often much more effective to essentially paraphrase what the judge (in this case) was really saying.

Wagglebee: we have a few leftists here posing as Christians. They only post articles that make Christians look evil (distortions mostly) or that cause Christians to fight.

They may pretend to be Protestant, which is a joke as Protestants are our Christian brothers, but under this mask, this group of leftists says the following about Christians and Jews (more details on my profile page)

:

  1. Hatred for Pentecostals and Methodists -- calling them
    1. of a failure to grasp the Biblical teaching concerning the history of salvation.
    2. saying that Methodists and Pentecostals worship the gospel of Satan -- a very serious and false allegation
    3. as damnable heretics
  2. of course we know that their group hates Pentecostals as much as Catholics, and their group believe us to be no different
  3. Against Lutherans -- accusing them of liberalism and not following Martin Luther
  4. Against Adventists - accusing them of being the same as Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses
  5. Against Orthodox, trying to say they don't have charity
  6. Against Christian martyrs in Pakistan -- Shahbaz Bhatti
  7. against Jews - no celebrating with Jewish friends, eh?

This an entire cover-up of religion to keep their group's true agenda of fomenting discord hidden -- just like the Westboro Baptist Club

I’ve noticed that same pattern of nauseating behavior. They get away with it for a while, because until they come to the attention of Jim or a moderator, a single comment usually isn’t egregious enough to merit a zot. Whenever Jim takes notice of someone’s pattern of trolling, he sizzles them.

HANNIBAL, MO. — This is not a story of the image of the Virgin Mother on a grilled cheese sandwich or Jesus on a tortilla. Hope you’re not disappointed, but I think this is far better. This is the story of a spiritual journey that transformed a beam into a masterpiece, and the spiritual journey of the amateur artist himself. It takes a big leap of faith to go from carving ducks to chiseling the image of the crucified Jesus. It also takes inspiration. And time. FAIRMONT — Parishioners, the faithful and even curious skeptics can look to the heavens at what appears to be an image of Jesus on the ceiling of one local church. “That’s inspirational because it makes people stop and think,” said Rev. Bill Sadler, First Presbyterian Church of Fairmont. “No matter what, you have to stop and deal with it being here.” The image was mysteriously formed in the plaster high above on the vaulted ceiling of the church’s sanctuary.

Of course, the Saviour’s face has been getting around a fair bit recently. We’ve already availed you of his face’s visit to an MRI scan, to some chicken feathers, Google Maps, a drainpipe, a Marmite lid and a student’s frying pan. Well now it’s the turn of a rocking chair in, appropriately, the City of Angels to host the holy visage. The chair belongs to Lou Balducci, who lives in the Mission Viejo area of Los Angeles, and he was understandably taken aback. ‘When I first saw the image, I didn’t know what to think. Ms McCourt, 31, has since been mobbed with requests from believers wishing to make a pilgrimage to see the holy imprint. The Coventry resident said: ‘When I took it out I could not believe it. It was a clash of images on Sunday in St. Paul, MN when a local man, Tuan Pham, awoke to see his beloved, custom-made Jesus statue in flames. According to family, someone took wood from a nearby pile and used a spray can to ignite a fire at the base of Pham’s 7-foot ode to Christ. It’s statue that has been controversial from the beginning: It may have burned for awhile; Pham’s daughter took pictures of her father trying to knock down the flames. Fire investigators were going over the garden a few hours later. If they find evidence of...

Anyone going through google or freepublic and seeing the number of posts making fun of Jesus Christ would come to the (wrong) conclusion that we in Freerepublic are the worst kind of people. The mocking of God reached its extreme yesterday with the entire litany of posts shown below

What was the point of this on FR? Was it a conservative discussion point? Maybe one, maybe two, but so many meant that the idea of these posts is to mock our Christian religious beliefs and to give people the idea that Christians are simpletons, are redneck rubes --> well, if that's the idea of the posts, then I think most of us will be proud to wear those titles.

It seems deeper than that -- this is part of an overall aim to

  1. portray all Christians as rubes and rednecks -- contrasting it to the utter logic of leftism
  2. Malign Freerepublic at the same time by destroying our image as a conservative, God-based website
