Boehner did a great job. I can’t figure why folks are having problem with what he’s done.

First, he made the most important question in US history get center stage....the life of the unborn. We have 53 million dead babies on the national conscience and Boehner beat them on it.

FINALLY, there is to be a meaningful ABORTION vote in the US Senate (and House).

ADDITIONALLY, he has engineered another vote on Obamacare in the US Senate (and presumably House). Obamacare is ALSO a pro-choice document.

HE has defunded the IRS increase.

ALL OF THE ABOVE, costs money — big money on Obamacare and the IRS expansion — so the 40 billion he horsetraded up from the Democrats opening position of 4 billion must have added to it the impact of defunded abortion, defunded Obamacare, and defunded IRS expansion.

And Boehner accomplished all this outnumbered 2 to 1 in terms of the legislative process.

They did not have to give anything. They had the vote power to give him nothing.

Boehner did a great job.

I guess is depends on the meaning of "great." Boehner and his fellow RINOs began the negotiations by giving away the biggest card they had, i.e., a government shut down. The negotiations went downhill from there. And when the next battles are fought on the 2012 budget and raising the debt ceiling, will shutting down the government be off the table again?

Boehner and the Reps blinked. The votes on Obamacare and Planned Parenthood in the Senate are mere eyewash meant to placate the Rep rabble. And I bet that some Senate Reps dread having to vote on Planned Parenthood. I am fairly sure that some Reps will vote in the affirmative on funding for PP.

IMHO he should have pushed through the PP defunding at all costs. That should have been the line in the sand. But apparently he caved on that issue and that, my FRiend is the single most important issue for me. You cannot compromise on core principles and if they backed down on this, knowing they had the votes to get it through the house and force the Senate’s hand then I don’t believe they have what it takes to actually do anything to save the Republic. The reason why the democrats are smiling is because they won on the core issue.

The Republicans may have “ won” by forcing a compromise on money, and that might please the Tea Party atheists bit I’m not impressed with Boner’s leadership on this one. He drew the line in the sand and then surrendered the real estate. That is the definition of defeat.
