DEVELOPING: Congressional leaders, with barely an hour to go before a federal government, announced late Friday night they had reached a deal to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year.
House Speaker John Boehner, speaking briefly to reporters after talks had concluded, said the plan was to pass one last short-term spending resolution Friday night to buy lawmakers the time needed to prepare and pass the final budget bill.

Paging Mr. Plato...Mr. Plato, please report to the Cave.
Just go away, Boehner. Thanks for handing the scum zero and Reid a victory so they can parade about on TV. Grow a pair, you weakling.
Is anyone up for helping to Primary Boehner?
Cheers!
So the Department of Hitting It will be funded indefinitely?
Boehner is history!!! They agreed to kill babies. VOTE NO!!!!
Why oh why couldn’t Pence run for Speaker. He would run circles around Dingy and the media.
2012 is the hill we choose to fight, and if necessary, die on. THAT is the one to focus on. These little piddly billions of cuts is NOTHING, compared to what is possible with Ryan's budget. What I have been reading, I like, from that budget.
Here’s the deal: we’re going to take all your money and freedom.
Have a nice day. :)
So when do we find out what’s in this bill??
GOP sells out all GOP sucker voters! What a bunch of suckers. They are making conservatives the same as the Blacks to the Rats. Ron Paul for President.
Well, that’s too bad.
We needed a shutdown to fix the runaway spending.
When it's too late, as always.
In a joint statement, Boehner and Reid said:
We have agreed to an historic amount of cuts for the remainder of this fiscal year, as well as a short-term bridge that will give us time to avoid a shutdown while we get that agreement through both houses and to the President. We will cut $78.5 billion below the Presidents 2011 budget proposal, and we have reached an agreement on the policy riders. In the meantime, we will pass a short-term resolution to keep the government running through Thursday. That short-term bridge will cut the first $2 billion of the total savings.
.
Cowards, more interested in keeping their jobs then doing what’s right for the country. Until we get term limits, nothing will change. PERIOD!
They won’t let him and he will not tell. Time for a new party. The GOP are the modern day Whigs.
Obama probably started crying about how not getting this settled would interfere with his family weekend plans in Williamsburg, and Boehner cried right along with him.
And now how will we pay for this? More borrowed money?
Barack has now came one step closer to be our king. Shame on us.
RUN!! It's a Boehner CAVE IN!!
But seriously, now that the dems know all they have to do is threaten a government shutdown and Boehner will tear-up, and cave in. They are not going to allow cuts in anything, heck they might try to get an increase in Obamacare and Planned Parenthood funding, and why not? When you figure out what blackmail works, might as well increase the shakedown.
Wow, someone else who reads.
I thought I was the last one.
