Via the Brody File, I feel obliged to post this now that hes the tea-party frontrunner and the recipient of some surprisingly encouraging buzz from evangelical leaders. You know what the most fun part of having Trump in the race would be? The fact that hes basically the bizarro Romney. Theyre oddly alike in some ways. Each has been wildly successful in business and used it as a springboard to other prominent pursuits. Each is highly regarded for his managerial ability, to the extent that Trump had a whole television series built around it. And each is suspect for being excessively opportunistic, replete with conveniently timed awakenings on social issues that matter dearly to the Republican base. Stylistically, though, they couldnt be more different, Romney buttoned-up and hesitant, Trump flamboyant and oozing roguish charm. Ironically, I think the latter works better for political pandering.
When a politician tells you what you want to hear and expects you to believe him, you feel insulted by both the lie and the insult to your intelligence. But when he tells you what you want to hear and seems not to care much whether you believe him or not, its a lesser offense. You know hes pandering and he knows that you know hes pandering, and, well, theres some honesty in that.

LOL, Fraud Paul is more establishment than the rest of them. He has been living off DC since the late 70s, he just learned to play the game a little differently by pandering to a different audience.
When Kerry was running, I really wanted to get a bunch of bumper stickers that said “No Fetus Can Beatus” to slap on next to the “Catholics for Kerry” ones.
Brilliant.
Horseshit.
Firepower, baby! Who says we're not serious about saving that last best hope for mankind??
Oh man, can you imagine a Ron Paul / Charlie Sheen ticket?
WINNING!
It doesn’t get any badasser than that. Tiger Blood 2012!
Funny how freepers didn't believe Romney's pro-life conversion, yet, Trump has now seen the light. They're BOTH NE RINOs. And we know what happens with them. And wasn't he the reform party candidate a few years ago?
Trump is a chameleon, pimping conservatives. Nothing about him is trustworthy.
Exactly
I have to play with photoshop tomorrow. I’m thinking:
Paul/Sheen 2012
Why continue to vote for the lesser of two crazies?
How about one with Scott Brown and Donald Trump called the great white hype?
Get it right and I’ll put it in the back window of my Cherokee.
Ridicule is the only antidote to this absurdity.
This is all coming from the HRC 2012 machine. The Donald is Hillary’s secret weapon.
You have to give tree-trunk ankles some credit on this. She identified the Tea Party’s soft spot and hit it with a perfectly executed shock & awe campaign. This “Donald & The BC” business is a masterstroke. The Clinton’s, scummy redneck trash that they are, don’t mess around. They didn’t have the goods on Buraq in 2008, but they do now. And they’re mainstreaming the issue. And they’re going to use the GOP primary to hammer it home.
Like a cunning mob boss, you can’t help but admire their moxy... even though you know they’re stone-cold evil.
My theory exactly. I think he is baiting a lot of folks and in the end, will be behind his Hilldog.
Does anyone on FR have the vaguest clue about Trump’s attitude on the Second Amendment?
What’s sad is right now, even Bill or Hill would look much better in the White House than what we’ve got now.

How about Trump/Busey?
