Why is he doing so well among adherents of the GOP? Perhaps because he’s running as if he were already the party’s boss, as opposed to the other candidates, who may seem like applicants for the job, comparatively speaking.
Mr. Trump’s CEO-like forcefulness has been on full display in his recent spate of television interviews. What do we do in Iraq? Stay and keep the oil! How do we handle China’s rise? Slap a 25 percent tariff on Chinese goods! Was President Obama born in America? There’s no proof – and I’m sending investigators to Hawaii to check into the story!
“It’s all about leadership. You have to be able to make deals,” Trump said Thursday on CNN.
Trump doesn’t back down when challenged. In the face of tough questions from interviewers, he’s doubled down on the whole where-was-Obama-born question, for instance. He waves away evidence such as Obama’s certificate of live birth from a hospital in Hawaii and contemporaneous birth announcements placed in Hawaiian newspapers.
“He could’ve been born in Kenya and gone over to the United States,” Trump said on CNN.
He’s even summoned an Arizona state lawmaker who’s the author of a so-called “birther” bill to meet him at Trump HQ in New York. Republican state Rep. Carl Seel’s legislation would require presidential candidates to prove that they were born in the United States to be eligible for the state’s electoral votes.

There was a time when Trump would have been rejected out of hand for a lack of credentials, but Obama has lowered the bar. If Obama was qualified, ANYBODY is qualified.

Sorry gang, but Trump sounds downright incoherent when it comes to most serious issues. I do notice the MSM is not piling on him like one would think because they are hoping against hope that he will be the Perot of 2012. So they’re indulging his antics in the meanwhile.
Just as, for one brief shining moment, they thought the Tea Party was going to be their Great White Hope and form a third party rather than take over the repubs.
Like many, I personally don’t think The Donald is going to throw his hat in the ring for real as he would never submit to the necessary financial disclosure (hint: we’d all find out just how much he’s really worth).

Actually, I think I saw that post. I just modified to the only name I choose to use for the idiot in charge. I’m 57 and he is the first man to hold the office in my lifetime that I sincerely think I could outperform in that duty.

One thing about it, he’s caused the mainstream to talk about something they really really don’t want to talk about except to mock those who do.
This is a pretty even handed piece. Pros and cons. Sadly, we don’t have a candidate that we all can get behind and get excited about.
One thing is for sure. Anyone on our side better get themself ready to walk into the dem media strongholds and make a case convincingly without flinching.
They will not be able to even think of winning if they do not.
