Supreme Court justice David Prosser has picked up more than 7,381 votes in Waukesha County, a conservative county outside of Milwaukee, as part of the statewide canvass following the election for Supreme Court on Tuesday. The total gives Prosser a comfortable lead as the canvass continues Friday.
The error came when Waukesha County clerk Kathy Nickolaus failed to save some 14,000 votes that came from wards in Brookfield before passing the vote total along to the Associated Press. County officials discovered the mistake Wednesday and shared the information with state election officials on Thursday. Prosser won Waukesha County with more than 70 percent of the vote there.
Wisconsin sources say that the paper trail on the votes will be obvious and difficult for anyone to dispute. Either votes from Brookfield were counted in the initial tally or they werent. Still, the discovery of the extra votes is sure to stoke the embers of the heated battles that have taken place across the state over the past two months, particularly because Nickolaus, the woman at the center of the controversy, is a Republican activist. A posting on the website of the Republican Women of Waukesha County indicates that Kathy Nickolaus recently served as president of that group.
But several sources have pointed to questions about her competence in the past. In August, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that her superiors ordered an audit of the county clerk's election equipment and system beginning with the September primary despite several memos she sent to the committee over the weekend defending her practices and resisting the move.
Went to bed in a horrible funk last night, which was fitful. Will be a great night for sleeping tonight!
Will somebody get this big walking carpet out of my way?
God occasionally has to remind us that He still has a sense of humor.
I may stop giggling in my beer sometime next week.....which should be about the time that my Way Out In Left Field Someplace cousin rescinds her suicide threats. (I wonder if she’s going to stop driving through Wisconsin in protest like she has done to Florida since 2000.......)
Now that is well done!!
DemoRats are now demanding “investigations” into the bad reporting. As if AP is some government agency that requires exact answers on cue.
Seems the offical final vote is:
Prosser - 92,263
Klap - 32,758
These were reported from the Press conference as official.
Seems there were plenty other errors corrected via the canvass...one was only 37 votes were sent for Prosser when it should have been 237.. a typing error.
Didn't you hear? Some University student got his radiactive experiment too close to the building. It has a severe case of radiation contamination. Additionally, these ballots can now be easily tracked because of their radiactive content.
Oh, almost forgot... [ /sarcasm off ]
(So somebody at homeland security does not have a fit...)
That’s straight out of the Rat playbook. Congrats GOP- you’re learning.
The dead are rising
Simply awesome!
Without his allegedly fraudulent victory over former Governor Coke Stevenson, LBJ probably would not have continued his political career; and his later influence over national politics as majority leader in the Senate, as vice-president, and finally as president, would have been lost. Accounts by historians of LBJ's razor-thin victory have invariably converged on the Thirteenth Precinct in the South Texas town of Alice in Jim Wells County, where 202 Mexican-American voters, some of whom were deceased or had been absent from the county on election day, reportedly lined up in alphabetical order at the very last minute to cast their ballots overwhelmingly for Johnson
Of course now that we know LBJ was at the top of the coup that killed Kennedy, we can add JFK to the list of people killed by LBJ. It all started with vote fraud in Alice, Texas.
Hah! I LOL’ed. :-)
One minor detail. The incorrect spreadsheet was sent to the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board. From there, the incorrect numbers went to AP.
This error affected only two contested races.
The first was Prosser-Kloppenburg. The second was the race between Lloyd Carter and Kathy Skilling for circuit court judge in Waukesha County. The results of the Carter-Skilling race were unchanged because Carter soundly trounced Skilling, a liberal appointed by outgoing Gov. Doyle.
There were several other uncontested judicial races which also had higher vote totals due to the error.
No other races were affected because local municipal races are canvassed and certified by the municipalities.
This isn’t going to go anywhere for Kloppenburg. Ramona Kitzinger, the democrat member of the board of canvassers spoke at the press conference and confirmed the nature of the error. She is a vice-chair of the Waukesha County democratic party. There was also a second observer from the democratic party in the room while canvassing was being done, along with several members of the news media. The process was open to the public.
Thanks.
I concur. :)
LBJ was at the top of the coup that killed JFK?
Can you explain about that. It’s news to me.
Thanks.
Klepto’s sabre-rattling statement sounded like something straight from der reichsfuhrer.
She lost and she knows it. But she doesn’t care. She and her union thug buddies will still attempt to steal this election through the courts or by any means they can. They just flat don’t care what anybody thinks of them. Their drive for power exceeds any concern for reputation or ethics.
