Supreme Court justice David Prosser has picked up more than 7,381 votes in Waukesha County, a conservative county outside of Milwaukee, as part of the statewide canvass following the election for Supreme Court on Tuesday. The total gives Prosser a comfortable lead as the canvass continues Friday.
The error came when Waukesha County clerk Kathy Nickolaus failed to save some 14,000 votes that came from wards in Brookfield before passing the vote total along to the Associated Press. County officials discovered the mistake Wednesday and shared the information with state election officials on Thursday. Prosser won Waukesha County with more than 70 percent of the vote there.
Wisconsin sources say that the paper trail on the votes will be obvious and difficult for anyone to dispute. Either votes from Brookfield were counted in the initial tally or they werent. Still, the discovery of the extra votes is sure to stoke the embers of the heated battles that have taken place across the state over the past two months, particularly because Nickolaus, the woman at the center of the controversy, is a Republican activist. A posting on the website of the Republican Women of Waukesha County indicates that Kathy Nickolaus recently served as president of that group.
But several sources have pointed to questions about her competence in the past. In August, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that her superiors ordered an audit of the county clerk's election equipment and system beginning with the September primary despite several memos she sent to the committee over the weekend defending her practices and resisting the move.
It’s not that the votes were “uncounted”, but they went unreported to AP on Tuesday due to an uploading error in the database.
If it was “cheating,” it was a case of fighting fire with fire.
If the lefties change the rules of the game through fraud, what are we supposed to do? Just let them take over an ENTIRE STATE??
However, I don’t think it was cheating-—it was just a mistake.
BTW, wasn’t another county accused of destroying ballots because they were likely for Prosser?
LOL, probably based on the idea that GWB "stole" the 2000 election. Exquisite irony.
Why did they delay voting on a voter ID law?
Voter ID and a two-week pre-registration with a verified address (none of this same-day registration stuff) is exactly what Wisconsin needs. The 2004 election went to Kerry because of VERY questionable tactics in Wisconsin, particularly in Milwaukee.
I would think prior to certification, all preliminary numbers are reconciled at the precinct level. They'd certainly be caught during a recount. In any election close enough for a single precinct to sway the results, a recount would probably be requested.
I would also point out that no one should be surprised that officials in an area that votes overwhelmingly Republican would be... well, Republican!
Imagine the mood in The White Hut upon hearing this news!
Hussein takes another shot to the mouth! No stitches needed this time though! WI is off the “sure thing” list of Obama voting states.
What a great great day for FREEDOM and LIBERTY!
That’s her?
Yikes!
Well if my math serves me, this count adjustment could take the vote difference to greater than 1/2 of 1 percent which is the re-count threshold. There may be no legal basis for a re count.
nobama and his grifter family are off on another vacation...this time to Williamsburg VA. Hold onto your wallet.
Bill Kristol?
UHHHH no.
OK KloppTrap, just look up “Gore, Al, 2000 retraction speech.”
You can do it Klopp. It’s been done before.
We celebrate today but let’s not get cocky. 2012 will be hard, hard work to increase and retain congressional seats and....maybe....overthrow the Communist in Chief.

Apparently Waukesha County was adding the new totals to a spreadsheet as they came in. Brookfield’s totals came in but the file had already been attached to the email before the votes were added to the spreadsheet (I’ve done that myself - attached a file from the disk instead of the one that’s open but not saved).
The totals we saw Tuesday night were unofficial - when the officials did their first audit of ballots vs. votes in the spreadsheet, they came up with a 14,000+ vote disparity. The Dem observers agreed it was an honest mistake and that the ballots had not been reflected in the spreadsheet.
Next election, I bet they take their time and double check everything before they press “Send”!
I might tune into O’Donnell just in case of a meltdown.
He is more than capable of it.
I have to agree with you on that. Being an engineer, the natural enemy of lawyers, I have judges, and a justice in my family. They take their work every bit as seriously as I do. She got played, even if her philosophy was contrary to ours. Commies don't care who they crap on. They played her and lost. It's under the bus with her now.
We live in dangerous times.
Do you know if the multi-million dollar damage estimates were true?
I’m sure they stunk up the joint but THAT much damage? Is it even possible?
The press wouldn’t bellyache if the votes had been found for Kloppy. They’d be making excuses about how “the process worked.”
